I've always thought that Jesus was talking about his sacraficial life here on earth. The victory is complete. Although Satan bruised Jesus' heal, Jesus crushed Satan's head.

In 1John 2:2 we are told that "He IS the Atoning Sacrifice for Our Sins and NOT for our Sins only but for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD".

That Atoning Sacrifice was "FINISHED" at the Cross.

Leviticus 16 is a "picture" painted by God to show the relationship of the atoning sacrifice in the overall "process" of Atonement.

He presents a fascinating study for all to in that "picture".

Hebrews 7-10 presents a picture of Christ - the perfect atoning Sacrifice - NOW the Perfect sinnless High Priest in the heavenly sanctuary. A perfect anti-type to the Hebrew sanctuary "type".

    In Christ,

    Bob

The Original Curse and its power of death effected All of Gods creation…Even heaven

The sacrifice of "The Lamb of God" was sent to destroy the power of death.

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world".
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
1 John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

(Some see the sacrifice as a personal victory, while others see Gods Sacrifice as a once for His Creation)..

Seeing that the power of death has been destroyed.

1 cor 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is Death.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of Fire. This is the second death.

…Here's another way to look at this verse is..
Hos 13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death; O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction; repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

Hoses seems to switch 'grave" with Johns revelation of "hell"..both being "destroyed"
Question is how does God "destroy" death and the grave. By making their functions no longer valid.

All Sin is removed from Gods creation

That death does not have the right to hold anyone or anything under its power. No curse, No sin

Rev 21:14 And God shall wipe away ALL tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

It would mean that death no longer has a purpose..no one can die..or sin

That they can no longer be seperated from God, their Creator

We See A New Heaven and A New Earth created where there is ; no sin, no death, no hell, no grave,no sorrow, no crying, no pain.

The eternal covenant between God the Father and God the Son is fulfilled. That being in the works thereof involved in fulfilling the Law of God and all righteousness, the sacrifice etc, all worked upon earth, is complete.

This work being complete, I believe the entire work of salvation also is in view here. Why? Because, God the Father did always know God the Son would be in obedience; I believe the time when Christ committed his spirit into the hands of the Father would conicide with the entrance into the holy of holies AND THE SPRINKLING OF THE BLOOD.

    God Bless.
