    Fundy "baptists" are the modern Pharisees and theologically liberals are the modern Sadducees. One has made up their own set of external rules to hide the Bible behind, the other denies God's supernatural works and the afterlife.

    How did you come to these conclusions? Do you yourself not support the fundamental truths of Christ without turning it into a Buzz Word, a label to convict others?

    If you could, would you personally eliminate all who would disagree with you or could you live with a serious conversation about becoming a "serious" / fundamental (go back to the root cause) Christian? I dont know you but you appear to be judgmental as apposed to patient & non accusatory. I will await your reply....perhaps I am missing something.

    Here is a question I have that is a sincere question.

    How much responsibility does the FBC Hammond (and others like it) bear in maintaining a man like this in the pulpit.

    I believe they are not culpable in any way in Schaap's physical relationship with this girl he was counseling, but I do believe if they had been knowledgable of the Bible themselves, they could not have allowed this man to preach (and that's being kind).

    In the case of a man like Schaap, where does one draw the line of accoutability between the preacher and the congregants for the very poor preaching and false teachings.

    I am not sure what you are asking. As soon as it was known, he was removed from the pulpit, so they didn't allow him to continue.

    Your final point is good, though. The church ought to exercise accountability in what the preacher preaches. They ought to check out scriptures to make certain that the Pastor is preaching what the Bible says.

    That's what I am asking. I've listened to many of his sermons and read some transcripts. These people should have dismissed him long ago for being a preacher who did not preach the gospel.
