Grammy and Tony winner Jennifer Holliday was set to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration but pulled out Saturday. She announced her decision in a letter addressed to the “beloved LGBT community” that was published on TheWrap.

“I was honestly just thinking that I wanted my voice to be a healing and unifying force for hope through music to help our deeply polarized country,” she wrote. “Regretfully, I did not take into consideration that my performing for the concert would actually instead be taken as a political act against my own personal beliefs and be mistaken for support of Donald Trump and Mike Pence.”

Because the left is all about declaring wrong motives for everyone. They WANT division in this country and they WANT unrest. That is sad especially since they have been screaming the opposite for the last 8 years.

You are really more intelligent than this reply indicates. [Very gentle said.]

Crabby - I'm just saying what I'm seeing. This is what I'm seeing online, on social media and hearing from people as well. I wish it wasn't true but I've finally come to the conclusion this is where we are. :(

Who is Jennifer Holliday and why do I care where she goes and what she does?

    More fake news?

One of the similar tactics that have backfired since the Primary campaigns.

Every new crisis fake or otherwise has only garnered Trump a greater following.

It seems that The Donald has an immunity to the Alinsky virus.

It matters because the Master Negotiator can't get A-listers to perform at his inauguration. He can't even get a Bruce Springsteen cover band to play there.

What makes somebody I never heard of an "A-lister" and who decides who is on the A list and why do I care?

Trump says he surrounds himself with only the very best people, and he can't even get good musical acts at the most important celebration of his life.

So, you equate the Entertainment Industry "A-List" with "the very best people?" What criteria do you use to come to that conclusion?

Never mind. No matter what I say you will reject it. This place can be toxic.

What does any of this have to do with Jennifer Holliday not performing at the Trump Inauguration?

    Do you understand "off topic?"

With bigwig Holliday pulling out, won't the other performers there such as young Miss VanHoose get more attention:

Are you biased against Appalachian folks?

"PAINTSVILLE, Ky. – A petite, young Kentuckian with a mighty big voice will take perhaps her grandest stage yet when she performs at the presidential inaugural concert. “Whoo! I’m excited,” said eastern Kentucky resident Marlana VanHoose.

trackside at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, VanHoose wows crowds wherever she goes

[she] plans to switch things up a bit for the concert on Thursday by singing “America the Beautiful.” Her stage...the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Good for her, but there's more to the Jennifer Holliday cancellation than meets the eyes - she was a victim of intimidation:
