    Hey Guys,

I've discovered a fun way to spread the name of Jesus and spend money at the same time...I went to the local office supply store and purchased a little ink stamper that allows you to place little rubber letters on it so you can spell out any message you'd like. Next, I went to the bank and got 100 single dollar bills and began stamping each one with the message "JESUS IS THE ANSWER" and "DISCOVER JESUS CHRIST" on the top edge of the bill. Then you just spend the money on stuff like groceries or exchange it with friends so they can help too. You can also just use a pen to begin writing whatever message you want on your money, such as Bible verses about salvation, ect. In addition to this, we can also use some of the junk mail we get. You know how some of them have a return envelope in them that doesn't need postage? Put a salvation tract in it and send it back! When you pay your bills you can also send tracts in those envelopes or write the above messages on the outside of them.

At this point I'm sure some are thinking this is illegal but I checked into that...It's not! Federal law states that as long as you do not render the bill useless or deface it beyond recognition that there is nothing wrong with writing on currency...Banks write on money all the time when they are counting it.

One of the neatest things about this idea is that a bill will pass through hundreds and even thousands of hands all over the U.S. in its lifetime and the name of JESUS will get seen by millions if we all help out. Even an atheist might get a dollar and unless they destroy their own money, they'll pass it along to the next guy who will see the name of Jesus. The focus of this project is to simply plant seeds. It only takes a tiny spark to start a roaring fire. The Bible says some plant, others water, and the Lord brings growth. The more people see his name the more they will grow hungry and curious about our Lord. Lets flood this country with the Holy name of Jesus.

I encourage you to help with this project and lets really get something going here. Grab a pen or a stamper, your wallet and write "JESUS IS THE ANSWER" or "DISCOVER JESUS CHRIST" on the front of your money!! Tell a friend about us too! Email this message to your friends. Take care and God Bless.

This is a better idea than the one folding the $20 bill to look like the WTC and Pentagon going up in flames!

Much, Much better, although that 20$ bill trick was kinda cool [IMG] If you fold a 5 dollar bill up you can see Bill Clinton shredding whitewater documents [IMG] Heheee

I once got a $1 bill in change with "Where's George?.com" stamped on it. Sure enough, it's a real website tracking the last-seen location of several denominations of bills by serial number. You can see how that bill has traveled around the country!

To expand on cdouglas76's initiative, how about a Christian website operating on a similar principle as George's? Get a domain name and then stamp the bills, and draw folks to Christ through shopping! [IMG] Think it'll sell? :D

    Great idea cdouglas76 :D
I get excited about anything that has to do with people at least *thinking* about Jesus.
    Thanks for sharing!
Another idea is to walk through your neighborhoods and pray for the people who live near you. Do this for about a month. ( By doing this, you will prepare the soil, spiritually) Then, ask your neighbors if they have any prayer needs ( everyone has something you can pray for them about, and people are generally not threatened by this). Prayer crosses all denominational barriers. Then find out if anyone needs any help, such as, an elderly person needing some help with yardwork etc. Then, begin to share your faith in Jesus [IMG] .
**Remember** we are just planting the seeds...

    Keep up the good work.

That's not a bad idea [IMG] It would have to be a catchy domain name. Got any suggestions?

If Jesus is the answer, what's the question?

"What's the most tacky and meaningless way we can think of to 'spread the Gospel'?"

What must I do to be saved?

Put that question and perhaps create a companion website like www.acts4-12.com as a URL.
Print both the question and the URL on the bill.

    Ransom,

This almost assumes that all people are uterly ignorant and incapable of having thier curiosity stirred or searching for Christ on thier own.

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

It's called planting a seed. If you were having a rough day and you got one of these bills, I bet it would put a smile on your face.

And you are assuming that stamping "Jesus is the Answer" on a dollar bill constitutes a comprehensive and effective presentation of the gospel.

And in any case, I am not assuming people are ignorant, but you are right that I am assuming they are incapable of searching for God on their own.

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

You should have gone a little farther.

Not only is man not ignorant, he is in a state of wilful rebellion against God's truth. This is why Paul can culminate his argument for human depravity with these words:

Stamping "Jesus is the Answer" on a dollar bill does not present the Gospel because it does not address the problem: human sin.

    Ransom,

Let's get something clear. I never claimed to be "presenting the gospel" or even the plan of salvation. My goal is simply to stir people's curiosity in Jesus. It only takes a spark to get a roaring fire going. As far as presenting the Gospel goes, people can read a bible if they wish to learn more. People are capable of doing such things on thier own. Printing Jesus is the Answer on a bill is perfectly acceptable...Jesus is the gospel according to John 1:1 and he's the answer to to life, sin, and all of our deepest needs.

    Jesus is the Answer,
    Chris

    Amen Chris :D
There are different ways to witness. Street witnessing is just planting seeds. Some would say it is a waste of time, but sometimes there are "Divine Appointments". There are many, many testimonies about people who were at the right place, at the right time.
Discipleship comes after. Some people will plant a seed, some will water, and Jesus will get the increase, then all the angels in heaven will rejoice!
*Remember: There are many parts of the body, and we are only a "part". May we work together as one body.

I've modified the original message I've been posting to broaden the variety of messages people should place on currency. Spreading verses about salvation is very important. I've also emphasised that the focus of this project is simply to plant seeds.

Chris, the stamp could be used not only on currency, but outgoing mail - envelopes and packages. There's a rubber stamp shop not far from where I work - I think I'll have something made. [IMG]
