    This would then be problematic given that revelation has been progressive and even Paul spoke of the mystery of the church. To say that one should never understand the OT in light of the NT is just incorrect.

    Progressive as it may be, thought patterns, language, concepts, and theology of the NT primarily stem from the OT w/ a smidgen being polemical to the then modern world of ancient Rome & its philosophy and religion. To ignore this is folly.
