This is not love--it's cowardice!
That’s your subjective opinion and value judgment! I though you were the nonjudgmental sort! I challenge your judgment as being lowball and despicable.

In the South in particular also the problem with their racial feelings have been negative but I have seen some good changes of late with Bob Jones University and others.
[/QB]
Now, you’re bashing Southerners! This is tantamount to what racists do. You’re not better than what you condemn. You are tarring all Southerners with the same brush. Now, that’s wrong! Shame on you! Of course, it is PC, I suppose, to blast Southerners.
That's your opinion and you're entitled to be wrong. However, I have a sneaky suspicious that you are using buzz words void of denotative content but filled with emotional mush. You talk about Christianity as if it were a feeling rather than objective truth. Truth is not a feeling. Righteousness is not a feeling. Holiness is not an emotion. And horrors, LOVE, in the Biblical sense, is not an emotion. How do you get the feeling that folks are unloving? Is it when they disagree with you? Your feelings are very subjective! Feelings (i.e. emotions) change with the wind. However, truth is objective and is verifiable against God's Word. Feelings depend upon perception, presuppositions, and personality. All these are variables.

Fat Eagle, your post sounds like whining and a left-handed jab at other Christians who do not hold your particular emotional concepts of Christianity. I suppose that I have offended you and you will consider me unloving. So be it. However, I assure you that I candidly tell you the truth in love.

BTW, if you start making lists of the unloving ones, according to your usage, remember to include those Biblical characters who spoke the truth, however offensive it may have been, in love--Nathan, Moses, Elijah, John the Baptist, Apostle Paul, Jude, et. al.--even Jesus, Himself!

Definition of castigation - dictionary: To inflict severe punishment on. See Synonyms at punish.
To criticize severely.

If my comment "You people are unbelievable. If this attitude is what you learn at your church, I pity you. " is considered castigation, then someone is being a bit dramatic.

I certainly won't argue with someone who compares himself to Paul. Have a nice day.
</font>
You have a neat way of sidestepping the issues. You will not meet me head on and refute my statements. You attack an obscure and minor point. I never said that you weren’t smart. We’re not actually debating the issue but you insist on quibbling about unimportant word usage or frivolous details.

I stand by my position that you are just as critical of posters on this thread as they are disapproving of Jim Bakker and John Hagee. You are censuring others for what you do yourself. This, my dear, is hypocrisy. What does the Bible say?

Amen. [IMG]

It is my hope that one of the Moderators will close this thread very soon. It has outlived any useful purpose, if it ever had one to begin with.

Your experience is limited and skewed! This post seems to be hateful, unkind, and critical of folks of the “IFB ilk.” You don’t seem to have anything good to say of the IFB folks. Are you prejudiced?

This is simply wrong. All IFB’s are not connected. Many IFB are ignorant of the existence of other IFB groups. Of course, there groups of IFB’s that fellowship and associate together for various purposes. Missions, education, conferences, etc. bring them together but the association is not universal among IFB’s. Your comment shows shallow thought and ignorance of the true situation.

You are doing the very thing to the IFB’s that you accuse them of doing to others. These statements are hypocritical, unkind, prejudiced, inaccurate, overly generalized and a misrepresentation of IFB’s.

The Apostle Paul preached against other Christians. If they are in doctrinal error, then we are to warn against the error! Would you rather tolerate the doctrinal error of the Charismatics and allow them to lead your people astray?

So, you do not believe in exposing heresy? Would you allow your congregation to be ignorant of the Word of Faith heresy? Is this pleasing to God? Does God teach us to tolerate heresy and doctrinal error? To refute heresy, you must preach against the heretical Christians who teach it.

I think there is a real question of who is ignorant here. What is “Gods love for all his children?” Do you really know what love is? Is it synonymous with tolerance? What do you do with the commands to rebuke, exhort, and reprove? Did God “forgive them” if they didn’t repent? Can you give me Scripture for your view? BTW, some of the SBC churches that I know preach hard against sin, heresy, and doctrinal error. In fact, some SBC associations kicked out churches that had women preachers or homosexual pastors.

Methinks you are accusing the wrong people of being “just ignorant of Scripture.”

We're getting nowhere fast!

Your wish is my command!!

Perhaps we can begin another thread---without nameing names--a thread where subjects can be talked about--without personality!
