    BJ...thanks for the compliment on the web site. Yeah if the doors are open I'm there. We have a small Church of about 100 members. It's a real loving Church and growing steadily.

    Ever read Psalms and Proverbs? They are intensely poetic ~~ Hebrew style ~~ which is little known to us today.

    Rather than meter and rhyme like English, they use parallel phrasing and repetition such as Prov. 16 <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Premise 1 - He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
    Premise 2 - (repeating/explaining) and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

    This was common among teachers and rabbis who answered by quoted scripture. When Jesus breaks into the "Truly, truly" or "Of a truth" ("verily, verily" in the archaic versions) His answers often are in similar format.

    So born of flesh, born of water seems evidently a more poetic response.
    <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Premise 1 - Unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

    Premise 2 - (repeating/explaining) That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
