WHAT DO YOU SUPPOSE JOHN F KENNEDY MEANT WHEN HE SAID
"Communism has never come to power in a country that was not disrupted by war,or corruption,or both"?

Maybe he meant "Okay Dick and Barry and Lyndon, I AM anti-red, so now get off my back so me and Marilyn can have a good time."

I am not sure of the relevance. I don't think the spread of communism is our greatest threat right now.

All of the Democrats used to be cold warriors. Now, of course, the Democrats are driven by the left wing that wants peace at any price. We used to have a bi-partisan foreign policy whereby debate ended at our shores and any criticism of the nation was not expressed in a foreign country.

You won't find that in the Democrats anymore, either. They use the Europeans to launch criticisms of the USA through things like the Nobel Peace Prize and trips to enemy foreign capitals. Love of country has been replaced by love of self and love of power.

That having been said, JFK was a womanizer deluxe who could put Clinton to shame and who may have been the equal of that cad FDR. Alcott had it correct in that JFK all but carried on an affair with Marilyn Monroe in public.

Coupled with his double-cross of the Cubans at the Bay of Pigs, I think that JFK is one of the worst Presidents in American history.

Not many people, including me, share that opinion. George Bush is by far the worst President in American history.

Do any of you understand that socialism is the goal?and communism is the distraction?
Kennedy may have been a womanizer(in my opinion he was)but I think what got him killed was the fact that he knew the real threat ,and was doing all he could to protect America from it,those in higher posistions than he did what they felt was nessasary to procede with the game plan....

This obsession with the sex lives of our leaders is just pure voyeurism and perhaps a little jealosy. I don't care who JFK [off colour comment snipped], his resolute and steady leadership during the Cuban Missile Crisis brought us back from the brink of nuclear annihilation.

JFK's word was no good. Just ask the men who were murdered by Castro during the Bay of Pigs because JFK promised them air support and then double-crossed them at the last minute. That is the main reason that Cuban-Americans never vote Democrat. They remember the blood on JFK's hands.

    No, JFK cut and run:

Two days later, on April 17, a landing was made at Playa Girón (Girón Beach) in the Bay of Pigs. A small beachhead was quickly achieved by Brigade 2506, but one of their freighter vessels, containing food, fuel, medical equipment, and a ten days' supply of ammunition, was quickly sunk. Combat was heavy around the beachhead as Cuban government forces responded to the attack. The remnants of the Cuban Air Force bombed and strafed the invading forces, as Brigade 2506 had not been supplied with fighter aircraft and President Kennedy categorically refused to allow U.S. fighters to go into combat.

Reagan's bay of pigs - the U.S. embassy in Lebanon, where he chose to cut and run.

That still does not work because Reagan did not make any military promises to anyone other than to keep the airport open. When Reagan retreated, it may have been a mistake because Arabs consider retreat weakness but it did not have any comparison with the Bay of Pigs where JFK actually doublecrossed the Cubans.

JFK's doublecross led to the deaths of 114 Cuban freedom fighters and the imprisonment of 1,189, who later had to be ransomed from a greedy Castro. It also sealed the Cuban peoples fate to a half century of communism. My neighbor tells me that Cuba is now without transportation, utilities, food, clothing, shelter, and medicine. Now Castro is passing his leadership of Latin American communists to el loco Hugo Chavez, President of oil-rich Venezuela and a military threat to many nations.

JFK's doublecross compares to Bill Clinton's refusal to give Colin Powell requested supplies at Mogadishu in 1993:

Task Force Ranger, commanded by Major General Garrison, operated independently of the UN contingent. Organized as the Joint[1] Special Operations Task Force (JSOTF), Task Force Ranger reported directly to U. S. Central Command (CENTCOM) rather than Major General Montgomery, Commander United States Forces, Somalia. Although Garrison kept Montgomery well informed, this convoluted Chain of Command critically delayed relief efforts on 3 / 4 October 1993. In addition, for political reasons Secretary of Defense Les Aspin rejected requests by Garrison, Montgomery and then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Colin Powell for armored support.

Apples and oranges. The barracks bombing in Lebanon was a terrorist attack. Reagan reevaluated the strategy, brought the soldiers home, and took a new course. JFK did likely err at the Bay of Pigs, but I do admire his leadership during the Cuban Missile Crisis. It wasn't perfect, but good enough.

Apples and oranges are both fruit. My point is that Reagan did withdraw the troops when they were attacked.

Now, anytime a democrat says we should withdraw from Iraq, they are accused of being in favor of cutting and running. Reagan did the same thing!

BTW, I think Reagan did the correct thing, and that withdrawing from Iraq would also be the correct thing to do.

Uhmmm... Yes it is. It's just now known as Liberalism or Socialism.

That whole SCHIP debacle was living proof that the Democrats want a Socialist Government. Hand outs... let 'em get a job and get their own insurance.

Why should my taxes pay for some stupid kid's parents who are too stupid to manage their money or living beyond their means, and cannot afford insurance?

Anyhow... If J. Frank Norris were alive, he'd be bouncing off the walls, with the rise of Liberalism in America. It's the same thing, just a new, "Pretty" name.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am not a full bore right winger, But my attitude has changed a bit towards the liberals, as of late.

Good Christian love portrayed in this post. Especially: "Why should my taxes pay for some stupid kid's parents who are too stupid to manage their money or living beyond their means, and cannot afford insurance?"
