    It's the big one!!!!

I AGREE. That is why I am switching to independent...Like Martin, when I renew my license this yr, I am switching to independent the same day.

Forget the 2 parties.. vote for the person that can get the job done right.

    Why bother?

Just vote any way you please and don't make any declarations about party or being "independent" at all.

I am a member of no party and not registered as independent. I owe no allegiance to no one but my country.

What is the Democrat's real agenda and why are you such an expert on it?

I don't know about Tiny in WV, but many states have closed primaries. You have to register as a party to vote in their primary or participate in the caucuses.

    That's a real shame.

Actually it has the advantage that it helps to insure that members of a party actually are the one choosing their own nominees.

If people can change their "affiliation" at any time, it has no advantage at all. Sorta enforces the notion that we remain pretty much a 2 party system.

We can only vote in one primary, but no false allegiance has to be sworn to do so.

No better. You can vote in the other party's primary and bear false allegiance as well.

    Much better.

No allegiance of any kind is declared or asked for. A simple notation is placed on the voter's registration card that you voted in one or the other...

primarily to keep liberals from voting in both.

In New York, to vote in a primary, you must have been registered in that party 30 days before the previous election.

Example, NY will be electing a govern in 2010. In order to vote in the 2010 primary, and wish to change your party registration, you must do it by Oct 2, 2009

Note: NY has elections every year; is a closed primary State.

Also, the above does not apply to new residents just moving into NY ie Tiny Tim moves to NY April 1, 2010 ( he conspired to fire me from FBC, because he wanted to pastor a SBC church) and he registers in the Conservative Party - he will be able then to vote only in the Conservative Party primary.

I thought that was a prerequisite to being a politician. I didn't know it was limited to one ideology.
