I found this email in my mailbox:

May God have mercy on those that voted FOR this demon,
    Obama.

So do you all think that God will judge us based on who we voted for?

I'll answer your question if you answer mine.

How are we honoring all those brave souls who suffered and died to win our independence and safeguard our liberties by accepting every form of tyranny they suffered and died to free us from?

You didn't really think I was going to just let you run away and hide without answering my question did ya?

    Poncho,
I appreciate more than you know what you stand for. But, just because someone, like Salty, doesn't do what you want him to do or agree with what you want him to agree with, it doesn't mean that he is trying to return our country to the standards we have slipped from. It doesn't mean he is accepting tyranny.

You mentioned the other day that those with whom you agree decided not to march. I thot they were these brave, strong defenders of freedom and taking a stand against tyranny. But they didn't march because they were afraid. You mentioned that it was wise because they shouldn't poke the tiger (or something like that). Maybe it's them who are accepting tyranny.

I remember at the beginning of one of the schools i went to in the Army. The instructor told us, "I have good news and bad news for you. The god news is that if you finish this, you will never have to prove your manhood ever again. The bad news is that you have to prove your manhood to me." Salty doesn't have to prove his hatred of tyranny to you or anyone else.

Your hectoring of him only makes you seem small.

Got nothing to do with any of that Tom. Salty has repeatedly demanded I answer his questions that were always about me. He has repeatedly gone off topic and tried to steer threads into discussions about me. He repeatedly reminds others posters to stay on topic, or get back on topic.

I asked him one simple question and he runs off and hides. He's scared to answer the question Tom.

Wrong! [IMG]http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/07/dc-activists-apparent-shotgun-loading-video-challenges-law/ He didn't want needless bloodshed. Is that the mark of a coward now?

Nope and he doesn't have to be a hypocrite either but he chooses to be one.

    That's your opinion Tom.

    Hey here's an idea.

How about you answer the question?

    Here it is again.

How are we honoring all those brave souls who suffered and died to win our independence and safeguard our liberties by accepting every form of tyranny they suffered and died to free us from?

I've been told so many times now that I'm dishonoring all those brave souls who suffered and died to win our independence and safeguard our liberties by people that have bent over backwards to accept every form of tyranny they suffered and died to free us from I'm sick of the hypocrisy.

I'm tired of these fake patriot boot lickers telling me I'm the one dishonoring those they don't even think twice about dishonoring with their cowardly acceptance of every tyranny others have died to protect them from.

I'm sick of the naked hypocrisy of these people and I'm not afraid to say it. How many people here are afraid to voice your opinion because you are afraid that Big Brother is reading this?

Raise your hands. No don't do that defending your brother's and sister's and children's rights might get you in trouble.

Let me answer it for me: I am not accepting the tyranny. Whether you think I am or not means nothing. I don't answer to you.

You have the spirit of tyranny that says I have to do it your way. I don't say you have to fight this battle my way and you have no right to tell me I or Salty has to fight it your way.

That's bull and you know it Tom. You're just as afraid as Salty is of a simple question. "I don't answer to you Poncho" that's about the biggest cop out I've ever heard on this board Tom and I've heard alot of em. I never expected it from you but then what was I thinking. How dare I act like Salty and demand an answer?

Don't try to lay this off on on me. I'm treating Salty no different now than he has treated me numerous times in the past! He has hounded and dogged me about not answering his questions that are always centered on and designed to demonize me and yet he hasn't got the guts or the common decency to answer one simple question I ask?

He already showed his true colors by choosing to disappear and not answer the question. If people here believe that's what passes for credibility and reason I got a bridge in Brooklyn I'll sell em real cheap.

If you don't care to answer the question just say so or plead the fifth! Don't slink off and try to hide or use some third grade excuse like "I don't answer to you".

If one compares those who died in the Revolutionary War with those who died in recent campaigns like Vietnam, Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan, it is true that the former group died for a cause and government that was pure to our ideals of freedom and liberty than the US Government that exists today, built on greed instead of freedom. However, the individuals who die today are just as brave as the ones at the start of our history. The average person like me just joined, and did what they were told. At the time, I never gave a second thought to the LBJ or Nixon administrations.

Yes, I think we will be held accountable for our votes.

You are insistent that we not accept tyranny, okay very we'll then, what would qualify as NOT accepting tyranny? Voting, protesting, armed rebellion...what exactly?

I cannot tell who you are talking to, but I will give my take on the question. Voting is a great way to oppose tyranny if the candidates are legitimate. If two people are running for Congress or the Presidency, that are equally greedy and thieves, what have you accomplished?

Protesting can be effect, when enough support is behind it.

With the interlaced fabric of corruption, treason, and greed in our national leaders and the two parties, I would say one solution is to evoke Article 5 of the Constitution for the purpose of amending the Constitution by Constitutional Convention.

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.

This would allow we the people to bypass Congress, all its crooked connections, the Presidency and the Supreme Court. All it takes to call the Convention for the purpose of amendment is two thirds of the state legislatures. Notice the amendments can be ratified by conventions in three fourths of the states.

This is one means to remove the cancer called the American politician.

Political action is important but is nothing compared to Jesus' command hat we go into all the world and share the gospel. If politics gets in the way of you doing that then God will judge you for that. When you express strong support for one of the political parties you immediately alienate ourself from those who are members of the oher one. Jesus associated with sinners, prostitutes, tax collecters, etc. He loved them and offered them away out of their meaningless existence. The only people He really hated were the scribes and Pharisees because of their hypocricy. Hypocricy is far more dangerous than being in the "correct" political party.

    AMEN AND AMEN !!!

Yes, we should be involved in the political - but I think you have given an excellent example of where to draw the line.

We do need our politicians to seek the Lords guidance in their decisions. And we could be that one person to lead them to the Lord and/or to keep them on the path.

    Good question.

I think if we don't know what a person will do after he's elected, ...we shouldn't be held responsible. A politician oftens promises one thing and then does something completely differently.

I do, however, believe if we support certain ungodly resolutions then we will be held responsible.

Moses listed in Deut 28 the signs of a nation under the judgment of God. Deut 28 talks about how a nation can be blessed or cursed.

Obedience to God brings blessing and disobedience brings curse. Simple concept eh?

Look at the Crime wave in our major American cities. We are a violent nation. We have forgotten God. And we have forgotten the principles of Righteousness that have made us great.

Look at Deut 28: 21 - 22. 21 The Lord will make the plague cling to you until He has consumed you from the land which you are going to possess. 22 The Lord will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with severe burning fever, with the sword, with scorching, and with mildew; they shall pursue you until you perish..

Sounds like incurable diseases and we have that now! American is scrambling to develop vaccines to combat these new diseases afflicting our nation.

Deut 28: 25 says the Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. when is the last war we actually won? Seriously? I say WW2. Beause of stupid decisions by Congress, we were driven out of Korean, Vietnam, asked to leave Iraq and soon we'll be leaving Afghanistan without total victory. We were embarrassed in Mogadishu.

We are currently giving the hard-earned money of the American taxpayers to people who hate us and hate Christianity! This is called tribute! Why? Why do we reward those who hate us and our allies? Deut 28: 47-48 “Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you."

What happened to the Israelites is happening to us.

The divorce rate in American is now over 50%. (Deut 28:30).

So, are we under judgment? I've listed just a few of the things that are happening in America today. Deut 28 tells us more will come if we do not turn back and repent. I firmly believe our Nation is in danger of judgment. If God is truly a just God, I tremble for our country.

Although it is impossible to put a time table on it, the fact is, God has blessed the United States more than any nation in human history materially. To thank the Lord for His kindness, we kicked the Creator out of our schools, and have taken the two most hideous sins I can think of, and made it the law of the land: abortion and same sex marriage. Yes, these sins have been going on since the beginning of time. In America, we used to be ashamed of them and kept them in the background. From there, we came "out of the closet" and started being proud of the practices. But that was not enough. Now, we make it the law of the land. (Although same sex marriage is not legal in fifty states as of yet, it is on a fast track)

It is almost like, after being blessed like we are, that we not only sin, but we rub God's nose in it. Everyone knows the conditions in the Old Testament that the Lord brought down apostate nations and Israel itself down for many times. A casual observer can see the United States has gone way beyond what some of these civilizations did to bring down the wrath of God.

The question is, what is the limit of God's mercy and patience in regard to the United States. He could put a stop to our non stop party anytime He chose. His goodness and mercy have got to be stretched thin. One day when the big thumb comes down out of the sky, we are not going to be worried about how well our cell phone works or what restaurant we are going to after church.

I think we as the body of Christ have become a bit too wishy-washy. Not laying all blame on pastors or any particular group, but we need less watered-down gospel and more hellfire and brimstone preaching to wake the people up. We need pastors who are straight shooters and don't pull any punches. And we lay people need to stop being Cafeteria Christians....picking a choosing what we like about the bible and disregarding what we don't like or what isn't politically-correct. Its like we are too worried about being PC and offending someone else.

I think God isn't in Heaven saying "lets make a deal" but rather God is telling us "this IS the deal".

That's actually a good statement. There are many ways to fight tyranny. I write my elected officials often and let em know how I feel. We don't always agree and so I also make my choice known at the ballot box. I also like to talk with other folks about politics and persuade them as well. I rarely march though.
