This is the correct decision. Justice is served!
Al Sharpton is already opening his mouth trying to start a race war.
Al sharpton,Obama,Eric Holder losers!
Will the liberals take this as an opportunity to pass more anti-gun laws in FL? Time will tell. I see a full-scale attack on "Stand your ground" and possibly upon concealed carry laws coming. I hope that I am wrong.
Jury finds Zimmerman not guilty
Listening to a Deutsch radio station this evening, and it is leading the 5AM news.
Defense lawyers said "it was the media's fault that made him "Zimmerman" look like a Monster and they were like Mad scientist experimenting on him." That was well said!
this is stunning news.
I am happily wrong.
I have always said that zimmermann is toast because some actor said Martin could've been his son, etc.
it looks like an all-women jury had more guts and more idea of what real justice is than could be imagined.
way to go.
This is the only decision that should have been made. Anything else would have been a travesty of justice.
In the meantime, this woman is rather quietly sentenced to twenty years: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57433184/fla-mom-gets-20-years-for-firing-warning-shots/
What gives? Sounds like she also turned around and went back, but in her own home, nobody is dead, and she's never been in trouble before. ?
I'll tell you what I think it is. I think whether one is guilty or innocent, it doesn't matter. What matters is if you have a ton of money on your side, then you'll usually be found not guilty, whether you're innocent or guilty. If you don't have enough money, you'll be found guilty, whether you're innocent or guilty.
I don't know that it has anything to do with race. Perhaps it has everything to do with money when it comes to the system, who you and your lawyer knows, which again comes back around to money - get one with enough money, they have enough connections to get you what you need for an innocent verdict.
maybe she should've shot her husband instead.
have you read this ?
it seems she fired the gun just above his head AND her children's INSIDE HIS home (not hers), the gun was in her CAR, which she retrieved. if these are the facts of the case, then I guess "stand your ground" doesn't apply.
Instead it would be attempted homicide or whatever they call it in that jurisdiction.
Ya know, when I do hang out on the internet, I'm glad it's mostly here. At least on BB, even the people I disagree with are usually intelligent.
By that I mean, I heard on the radio this morning that Zimmerman was found not guilty of shooting Trayvon Martin.
All I ask for is accuracy in reporting. We all know Zimmerman shot Martin; he was found not guilty of murder. Am I asking too much?
If anything, that makes it even more clear. It WAS her home, the marital home, and she didn't just drive over. She actually spent the night, so it's not like she burst in unexpected and he had no clue she was there. She spent the night in her husband's home.
And ran to her car in the garage. Then got out of the car. That actually sounds a LOT like Zimmerman, except Zimmerman wasn't in his own home and didn't know the suspect, let alone just give birth to his child, where this woman was in her own home and married to the person she claims to have been afraid of, and was showing him pictures of his baby.
She's also accused of the horrible act of still talking to her own children and of going back to the marital home to get some of her own belongings.
Guys who hit on their wives generally don't want them to even a scrap of their own things during a divorce and will not let them so much as say hello to their kids if they dare go against them. It's a control thing. And of course they'll find it amusing to throw the wife in jail if she dared stand up for herself. How dare she. He has all the power. She has none. This case REEKS of a typical domestic violence type separation. Read between the lines.
And don't tell me no kids were near where Zimmerman shot. That lady on the phone to 911 was hiding with her child/children in the phone call, in fear. Look at the photos. What if he would have missed? What if the bullet went through? It was a populated area with homes and windows in extremely close proximity and he wasn't firing a warning shot. He easily endangered other people's lives by shooting a gun in that area.
Apparently, you are. I'm shocked at the inaccuracies that are reported. I could have a full-time job proof-reading and editing the local newspaper, the Minneapolis StarTribune (which recently won two Pulitzer prizes.) About two weeks ago they reported the events of a Minnesota Twins game which I had watched on TV on a Saturday as having taken place on Friday night.
Gina--to go along with what I posted earlier today, and what ITL underscored with his post...I also heard an interview with Zimmerman's lawyer who asked the question, Zimmerman screamed for help for 45 seconds (or Martin did, depending on who you believe), while being hit and having his head pounded into the sidewalk, before he pulled the trigger.
The defense attorney also stated that Zimmerman got out of his car to look for Martin when the 911 operator asked where the kid was.
In other words, like the story you posted about, NONE OF US HAVE THE WHOLE STORY AND ARE MAKING JUDGMENTS BASED ON SPECULATION.
Yep kind of like they do with the nature of God. A lot of speculation.
Gina, apparently you did not read the document.
One - the woman had not been staying at their "marital" home for two months. where she had been staying was not stated. she did not come home to talk to her children.
Two - the argument ensued from her showing a picture of their newest baby which the husband suspected was not his, but her ex's, because he saw texts from her ex to her in her phone. Apparently, he thinks she's been seeing her ex, even prior to the nine months before their "last child's" birth, assuming she went full term.
Three - the husband DID NOT HIT HER IN ANYWAY AT THIS POINT. she was in no danger since her exit was TO THE garage, not through a window, or a door out.
Four - to the garage because that was where her car was, and in her car was her gun, which she then loaded, pointed at her husband, and shot, the missile going past just inches from his head. her intent was MURDER, not self-defense.
Five - her husband begged her not to shoot, but she still did.
As for Zimmermann endangering others when he used his gun, IF he was on the ground with Martin on top of him, it would take an extraordinary amount of bad luck for whoever gets hit by his bullet considering the obvious trajectory that bullet will take even if it deflects from a bone in Martin's body and exits through his butt or his side at a horizontal trajectory at a level low enough to hit anyone.
Now if Martin had been standing when shot it would have been different.
to be truthful, I don't know which position this "good, innocent kid" was at.
By the way, where is the indignation for the white mother's baby shot purposefully by two black thugs in a failed robbery ?
yeah, that don't count.
the baby was white.
