And you can tell that from the actions of the voters in one Congressional district? About .0015 of the people who voted on November 7 voted a Muslim into office and you make a such a statement.

I repeat - get a grip on reality, folks. :)

Who would have thought that fifty years ago a predominate poliical party of the USA, which claims to be Christian, which created many good things for the people of this country, would embrace the murdering of little babies in their mother's wombs? But here it is some 50 million murders later! Fifty years ago you wouldn't think you would see nudity and profanity on tv, but little by little here it is. Yes, get a grip on reality folks, because your Christian country is on it's way out. Come Lord Jesus, come!

    God Bless!

So if you could help a pro-life Mormon get elected into office versus a pro-choice Christian, what would you do? Would you vote for the Christian even though you disagree with him on abortion simply because he is a Christian and not a Mormon?

This has never been a Christian country. Therefore, it cannot cease to be what it never was.

Our country has always been one where the majority of the people with a religious affiliation have been Christian. I doubt that will come even close to changing within the lifetime of anyone posting on this board today.

    .

Do you assert that this scripture only pertains to marrying? Does it not also pertain to partnerships of any kind?

    God Bless!

#1 "pro-choice christian" is a bit of an oxymoron. I would be suspect of a person who claims to be a Christian yet supports the right for mothers to have their babies murdered. Either they are lying about being a Christian or they are very ignorant of just what God's word has to say about murder. I would not vote for either one. They are both disqualified in light of God's Word for me.

    God Bless!

Sorry, steaver, but I am not one to restrict salvation to only those Christians that agree with me.

I assert that voting for someone or rooting for his campaign does not make one "yoked" to such a person. I think that you are debasing the word "yoked".

Your definition is what I call a "Christian Country". We call "muslim nations" such because they are predominately muslim even though they contain non muslim citizens as well.

I believe it has changed drastically already in the past fifty years. Just look at those who support the murdering of babies. Does this sound Christian to you?

    God Bless!

Me either. Do you believe a Christian can murder or support those who do? God's Word declares that no murder has eternal life living in them.

    God Bless!

Evidently, you think that during the early years of this country that this country met your definition for being a Christian country. However, for the first hundred or so years in this country after 1776 we broke treaties with the Indians and we had a huge number of slaves who were torn away from their families in Africa and brought here. Our federal constitution did not even consider these people to be whole persons. Does this sound Christian to you?

Not every Christian regards abortion to be murder as you and I do. I don't claim the power to be able to write them out of Heaven. Only one Being has the power to do that and neither you or I are Him.

I understand. You are not alone in this. But God's Word declares we are ambassadors for Christ. This means that we represent Jesus Christ here on earth. Likewise we elect "representatives" to congress and other leadership roles that "represent" us. This means that we vote for the one who "represents" our values. If you vote for a nonbeliever or a murderer then you are making a clear statement about your own values. I don't see how you can see it any other way, but if you can escape the "representative" aspect of it somehow, please reply.

    God Bless!

My theological values are not represented in Congress. The Congress is not the church. Therefore, the theological differences between evangelical Christians and Mormons should not be a part of the political discussion.

As far I can tell, Mitt Romney agrees with evangelical Christians on the social issues. Therefore, as president I believe that he would indeed represent those values.

I need to go do some yard work and then watch a football game. Perhaps we can continue this interesting discussion later. :)

If over eighty percent of Americans identify themselves as "Christian", then it follows the US is a Christian country. It does NOT mean that it's always behaved as such.

Elison's Nation of Islam and CAIR ties worry me even more than his professed "religion". As for Mitt Romney, to be frank, his Mormonism is an issue for me, I think he's unfortunately unelectable to national office because of it.

That's your opinion, which you are entitled to. On the other hand, other Christians are of the opinion that a lackidaiscal attitude on this issue represents a lukewarm Christian, at best. God says to have no other gods before Him. Swearing allegiance to allah (satan) on a satanical book (Quran) is swearing allegiance to a false god, not just any old false god, either.

Christ is the Prince of Peace.
Moe was a prophet of war.
Christ is the Giver of eternal life.
Moe and his followers are takers of human lives.
    Christ's method is voluntary conversion.
Moe's main method of conversion is by force.
Christ prayed "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.
Moe preached "Death to the infidels!"
Christ shed His Own Blood to redeem us.
Moe is swift to shed the blood of others.
Christ's disciples died for their faith.
Moe's disciples kill for their faith.
    Christ's tomb is EMPTY.
    Moe's tomb is occupied.

No, it does not sound Christian to me. Whether or not one calls this country a "Christian country" either now or then really is a rabbit trail anyways apart from my concern about voting practices of a professing Christian. So since I am not a history expert I will concede the point.

    God Bless!
