"Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is going to meet justice and he's going to meet his maker," said President Barack Obama's press secretary, Robert Gibbs. "He will be brought to justice and he's likely to be executed for the heinous crimes that he committed in killing and masterminding the killing of 3,000 Americans. That you can be sure of."

Considering that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed wanted to plead guilty before a military tribunal...

Considering that a civil trial could remotely result in no conviction...

Considering the propaganda value to our terrorist enemies of a civil trail...

Considering the huge cost of a civil trial...

Considering that the Obama administration has already declared him guilty before the trial...

What is the point in putting on this show trial?

It has the potential of being nothing more than a public propoganda spectacle of the type that Communist China is infamous for.

Why is Obama insisting on doing this?

If it can result in no conviction, then it is not a show trial. KSM will be tried in front of 12 impartial jurors and will likely be convicted, and if convicted and if the jury finds a statutory aggravating factor, which they likely will, he will likely be executed.

In that he confessed and wanted to plead guilty to a military tribunal a lack of conviction in a civil court does not make him innocent.

And it would still be a show trial that went horribly wrong for Obama.

Obama and his proxies have said that he is guilty before the trial.

I wonder if that will be enough for his lawyers to get him off in and of itself?

After all how can he get an impartial jury of his peers after that?

Perhaps they will impanel a bunch of foreign Muslim terrorists for the jury.

Federal statutes don't authorize hanging as a method of execution.
