In light of the anti-torture law debate I thought this might bring on some serious discussion about christians and war. I know it will irritate some who consider themselves ultra-patriots but I hope you will take the time to look at Brother Vance's scriptural arguments.

Should we sit by when Sadaam gasses Kurds by the 100s of thousands ? Would Jesus rather us do that ?

It is liberal tripe. His article insinuates that soldiers mostly read porn and visit hookers. He's an idiot for saying that.

It also says lies got us into the war, a popular statement from the left, but with no merit, whatsoever.

It is not un-Christian to be against the war, and likewise, it is not un-Christian to support it. Stop insisting it is.

I see nothing wrong with a Christian being a member of the armed forces, or being in the police force, or defending himself and his family through the use of force.

I believe the number was close to 1 million. Add to that the hundreds of thousands of persons Hussein killed, tortured, and did countless other dispicable things to. I have no problem with taking action to take down sich a regime.

Interestingly, it was Saddam and his sons that had stockpiles of drugs and pornography in their palaces. We may not have found weapons of mass destruction, but we did find weapons of masturbation.

I fail to see how any person has any sense of compassion for a family that routinely sought gratification via the murdering of innocents, and then followed it up with sexual gratification. And this on a significant number of people.

Ed, don't give the loony left any more ideas. Next thing you know, they will be improving on that model to generate random conspiracy with no additional input.

The "just" war concept is very subjective. I, as a Christian, see no problem with having invaded Iraq.

This has been argued over for the last 2.5 years. I see no reason to argue it further. Even if one is against the Iraq war, we can't go back and uninvade Iraq.

Bro. Petrel: I know you have to have your fun with
the new dial-a-konspiracy tool. But some of us need
    to be serious [IMG]

I'm working on the GRAND MAL KONSPIRACY: you know
the galactic sort of conspiracy theory. Unfortunately
Earth is a farm community - we are destined to be
dinners for the inter-cosmic civilization :(

    Hey mi amigo Poncho,

I made no condemning remarks. Just an view that the loony left would use the model to generate random conspiracies. If you are a member of the loon left, then I can understand why you would object.

I do not consider myself a looney leftist or a co opted conservative. Actually I find the distinction between the two factions of the globalist party to be so small the only way I can tell who is who is by their rhetoric and even that is begining to sound the same to me.

Seems to me we are being givien a choice between a socialist world order or a fascist world order. I find that I don't care for the prospects of either. So I will speak out against both and take sides with neither. You?

I am not taking a side yet and did not even read the article but just want to make a point in response to the above statement.

Didn't the US sit by while numerous other leaders killed tens of thousands of people in their countries, like some of the infamous African dictators?
