They are up to no good. I guess this is their way of telling everyone that because we are spending more than the RNC, WE will pick the 2016 Presidential candidate.

Might explain all the extreme views at the event. folks trying to get that money.

Christians should be wary of those who use their great wealth to manipulate.

The Supreme Court took "We the people" out of the election with their horrible decision a few years ago. We are now rule by "We the super-rich."

Ahh, the liberal boogeyman rears his ugly head. Harry Reid once claimed the Koch Brothers were one of the "main causes" of climate change. It's funny how liberals keep running back to the Koch Bros. as a boogeyman.

Then again, as was pointed out, conservatives have a tendency to do the same with Soros. (Understand, carpro, I am not accusing you, though it might sound as if I am. Soros often serves as the conservative boogeyman counterpart to the Kochs for liberals.)

I don't see blind and blanket statements like this are helpful.

Really? Just pointing out how liberals tend to demonize the Koch Brothers for their political dealings while openly welcoming George Soros and his money is a blind, blanket statement? It happens, Rev.

Conversely, we often see conservatives demonize Soros for donating so much while simultaneously welcoming the Koch Bros.

Yeah, it might be a "blanket" statement, but it captures the spirit of the argument quite well, I think. Both sides are guilty of using over-the-top rhetoric, such as Reid's claim of the Koch Brothers involvement with climate change. Conservatives have claimed Soros collaborated with Nazis. Every bit as over-the-top, if not worse. But this is the game that both sides play.

And thanks for proving my point. Not all conservatives said such a thing. In fact it was very few and even then no one prominent. When you failed to point out it was but a small faction then you yourself have been guilty of the very thing you are accusing others of.

Apologies, Rev. I will, in the future, make sure that I explain every little detail of every little thing I type in every one of my posts. I never said which conservatives said it, but since Joe Q. Public conservative doesn't exactly have a media outlet beyond Facebook / Twitter, it seemed obvious that I was talking about the higher profile conservatives.

If it makes you feel better, the only "conservative" who consistently dredged up Soros is Glenn Beck. Conservatives might not have the high-profile politicians saying things, the way Reid did, but I still feel my point was valid. I'm sorry you think that I'm intentionally making sweeping generalizations about conservatives (especially seeing as I am very conservative).

No problem. Just keeping the playing field level.

Democrats are owned by moneyed interests just as much as republicans are. Liberals like CTB like to pretend it isn't so.

No one prominent? Coulter said it and it was parroted on Hannity.

Now that the Koch Brothers have said what they will spend, you know Soros is not to be outdone.

I do not believe it will happen, but I hope the Supreme Court sees the error of its way and reverses the Citizens United decision.

I do not care which party the rich folk support, I do not want the super-rich running the country. They surely do not have the average American's welfare as the center of what they want to do.

The last that I heard the Koch brothers are Libertarians, who are well-to-do people.

Move from Libertarian Party to GOP: Koch brothers change tactics, not beliefs

"...The New York Times, delving more deeply into the Koch brothers relationship with Libertarianism and relying on extensive documentation in an archive of Libertarian Party documents at the University of Virginia, shows that David Koch's presence on the 1980 ticket was largely designed to take advantage of the loophole in campaign finance laws that allowed a candidate to spend unlimited amounts of his own money to promote his campaign...."

"...."Since 1980, the Republican Party has moved closer to the Koch family’s views on government regulation. Its rising members now court the Kochs and like-minded donors at twice-yearly "seminars" that the brothers organize. In 2012, David Koch was a delegate to the Republican National Convention.
“I think the Republican Party has a great chance of being successful and that’s why I support it,” Mr. Koch told reporters at an American Prosperity reception in Tampa, Fla., that year. “The Libertarian Party is a great concept. I love the ideals, but it got too far off the deep end, and so I dropped out.”..."

I'm sure the Koch brothers give money to anyone, if they believe that person can influence things to make them even more money.
