    Last Chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you, or did you not, get that Mothers day card and sign it, and get a gift!

    Or

Are you going to wait until its toooooooooooo Late!

I already got three cards! One over the net...which I was very proud of. That was the nicest thing...I saved it to my computer. And it was not even my kids who sent it.

They know who they are...and I really mean thank you! :D I was very happy to receive it.

And I got lots of pms telling me...and so I really feel special. Thank you all!

    So now...

Happy Mother's Day to all my friend on the board. Everyone of you are special to me. Even the ones who are not Moms!

    Love in Christ
    God Bless
    Sherrie

No, I didn't. My mom passed away a year and half ago, and no mail service I know can forward it to where she is.

    Sherrie,

I don't think you were being insensitive at all. That's just life. That's just how things on this earth are.

We lose people. All of us do. And it hurts.

And when people lose their mothers, Mother's Day is difficult whether people remind them of it or not.

Alcott and everyone else on this board who have lost their mothers don't have to read posts like yours to feel the pain of Mother's Day.

    So don't feel bad.

I appreciate your reminding us to get with it, even at the last minute.

Everybody here on this board, at some time or another, will be in Alcott's shoes. Until then, we need to honor our mother's every chance we get and yes, we need to remind ourselves of that.

    Peace-

    YSIC

I didn't say you were "insensitive," and I don't think so, either. That was just an indication that your reminder does not apply to everyone.

I didn't send a card Sherrie, but I placed a wreath on my mother's grave. Mom gets to celebrate EVERY day now!

    HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY ALL!

    Thanks for the reminder, Sherrie.

Thought I'd pass along this article from Christian History magazine:

    THE ORIGIN OF MOTHER'S DAY

The founder of Mother's Day, Anna Jarvis, lobbied for the holiday in honor of her mother, Anna Maria Reeves Jarvis, who had spent the Civil War organizing women to nurse wounded soldiers from North and South. After the war, Anna Maria started "Mothers' Friendship Days" to reconcile families divided by the conflict.

My Mom and wife have for years now slaved over the hot stove to cook a turkey or ham for Mother's day. This year I opted to get a Honey Baked Ham dinner.

My Mom and wife will be there. One sister, who recently gave birth, from Atlanta will be there. The other sister from parts unknown will be here with her 6 month old. I will have the 4 most important ladies in my life together and all are mothers. I can't wait. [IMG]

P.S. Of course they will have to wash the dishes.

    Alcott and Sister--

My momma passed into the Land of the Living a year ago this past April 16--I preached her funeral--and "Land's Sake!"--I can hardly wait to see her again!! Talk about a Mother's Day comin'--it'll be that glad reunion day!! I can still remember her drivin' that '63 Ford Galaxee--her "switchin'" ole Blackbird and then "gettin' it again when daddy got home!" And all of those "Momma! Don't call me that in front of my friends! Especially the girls!"

Insensative--no! I get the honor now of watchin' my two kids give honor to their mom!!

God bless our hearts--lets have Mother's Day!

I got the greatest gift...My mother sent me an e-mail. She hasn't had e-mail in years. I think this is so great because I love talking to my Mom, but we usually spend a couple of hours at a time on the phone, and she is long distance. So I can't talk to her nearly as often as I used to. When I used to live near her, and work near her, I would often just go visit her after work or on my lunch hour. It's been a little bit harder having moved up north a fair peice. So yippee!!! I can talk to my mom with e-mail, and sent her some pictures too. Her e-mail was so cute...just 4 short lines. "I don't know how to do this" Hannah got a swing set"(Hannah is her granddaughter, my sisters child) I need a bigger screen so I can see her or a stretchy neck" "Love you guys, Mom"

I think regarding how Mothers day doesn't apply to everyone...I think that eveyone has someone that they can say Happy Day too...whether it be a child, a spouse, a neighbor or a grocery clerk. So Happy Mothers Day, to all my friends who are mothers, to those who hope to be mothers some day and to those who have a mother. Happy Day everyone. And God Bless you.

    In Christ's Love,
    Laurenda

Well, I didn't forget, just didn't do it. So, hubby helped me save face and took her out to brunch this morning. I took her shopping afterward, so I am still the "good daughter". ;)
