    We are seeing things take place in this nation that no one would have ever guessed would happen a generation ago. We are eroding at a rapid rate from the nation we once were. In these last days what do you think will become of this country?

    This country? Are you so ego-focused and Americo-centric that you forget there is a globe out there? At least qualify yourself with "... will become of USA?"

    I want 1 of 2 things... revival in the USA or the outlaw of Christianity in the USA. Maybe option 3, the upheaval of the USA. Get those Christians out of that piece of land and into the rest of the world.

    You have your head in the sand for number 1 but for 2 it is a high probability if not outlawed at least hindered greatly. I believe that we are headed for a worst fate than Europe in the Christian realm and worst fate than a third would nation as a country. I believe the true church in this country is on the way out and the nation's foundations will follow soon after.

    The "last days" were occurring during the 1st century. Barring a major change, the US will probably fade away as we know it but God's Kingdom will continue on.

    Let's See!

    Turn on the late night news and see stories on [every day now]:

    *Hit-and-run accidents resulting in death(s); car chases through our commuinites;
    *Shootings in and around places you'd never expect to see shootings; drive-by shootings;
    *Corruption in local politics with people being arrested, recalled, etc.;
    *Vandalism and hate speech against churches and synagogues;
    *Molestations and rapes at senior day care, child day care, and college campuses;
    *Domestic violence resulting from domestic abuse, usually ending in mass killings, or family murders and suicide;
    *Hispanics marching down the streets demanding instant immigration and amnesty ... and what is so sad is these folks are all here illegally and should be being marched right to jail and deported, not allowed to hold illegal demonstrations in front of public buildings;
    *More and more black and Hispanic shootouts, showing a decline in civility between these two cultures;
    *Illegal birthing houses busted and shuttered. Homes that Asians bring pregnant women to America, so they can give birth and have an anchor baby status with their child;
    *Aa growing trend of violence among kids who are not even teens yet;
    *Abortion on the rise;
    *Homosexual activists fighting for more and more rights;
    *More businesses going out of business, laying off thousands;
    *Earthquakes and freakish weather in places around the country that normally don't have these kind of calmaties;
    *Growing restlessness and lawlessness in all social groups, especially where this sort of thing never took place decades ago;
    *Massive food recalls, due to mishandling and diseases like salmonella;
    *Pollution of our great national parks and waterways;
    disenchantment with government and its leaders;
    *Price increases and unemployment going up too; more people on the streets an iving in cars;

    I'm sure you can add to this list...it's just that this is all I heard in 90 minutes of news today...

    *And then we get to the world news, and we all know how depressing that segment is?

    Amen. The promises of God. I take comfort yet in this:

    While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Gen 8:22

    Judith, I'm with you! rd2, the headlines are absolutely staggering. This morning on wnd.com is story after story of folks going absolutely crazy. Local bus drivers being attacked; five cops that killed the wrong man; an old man reaching for his cane was shot by a deputy sheriff; the President ruling via executive orders by passing the legislature..., the list of lawlessness is endless.

    In my opinion however, the end times began on the day Jesus was Crucified. We're in the end of the end times.

    This nation has run aground and while a nationwide revival is certainly in order I doubt we will ever see it.

    Just consider the varied attitudes of this forum. People become fighting mad over stuff that is of no real consequence..., and we're supposed ALL be believers and followers of Jesus.

    or maybe another revolution, new government, as the founding fathers did provide for that, if the republic became corrupted and not allowing for the citizens to rule!

    You seriously think this is God's ultimate desire for mankind, His church in particular? That's what gets me about amillennialists in the first place, how they look at the condition of the world today, how they can look at biblical prophecy and claim it has all been fulfilled, how they can look at the condition of mankind and believe this is God's ultimate "paradise." Your thinking is absolutely ludicrous.

    We really should not get too excited about what is happening in this country as it affects God's plans. Consider:

    GREATEST NATURAL DISASTERS

    The 10 worst natural disasters in terms of death toll are extracted from a list of 66 compiled by David B. Hall. The complete list is available on the internet. I have yet to find an appropriate way to reference the work by Mr. Hall. Sadly, though not a natural disaster Mr. Hall fails to mention the millions of unborn children aborted world wide each year, 50 million slaughtered in the United states alone since the 1973 Roe v Wade decision by the Supreme Court. Strangely approximately one third of all pregnancies in this country are terminated by abortion which comports with the one third mentioned in Revelation 9:15-18.

    EGYPT AND SYRIA, 1201

    The deadliest earthquake in history hit the eastern Mediterranean in July 1201. Approximately 1.1 million people were killed, mostly in Egypt and Syria. This makes it close to one of the ten worst natural disasters in recorded history.

    MOST OF EUROPE AND BEYOND, 1347-1350

    Approximately 25 million lost their lives through the "Black Death" - the bubonic plague. Between 25 and 33% of the entire population of Europe at that time, plus millions in Asia and North Africa lost their lives.

    WESTERN HEMISPHERE, MOSTLY 16TH - 18TH CENTURIES

    Untold millions of lives of American Indians were lost through the various sicknesses brought over from Europe (to which they had no previous exposure or resistance.) It's very difficult to get figures on this that are not politically infected one way or another (very high or very low).

    INDIA, 1769

    About ten million people lost their lives from a famine in Bengal.

    CHINA, 1876 - 1879

    The deadliest drought in recorded history was in China between 1876 and 1879. Rivers were dry, so most crops and livestock died. There was no food production in a 1-million km2 area of 9 provinces. The drought caused the death of an estimated nine million people.

    WORLD-WIDE, 1918 - 19

    Influenza pandemic takes somewhere between 35 million and 75 million lives (some reports estimate around a hundred million, but those can't be confirmed) - at least 16 million people died in India alone. This is clearly the worst disaster - at least in the last thousand years.

    CHINA, 1935

    Another Yellow River flood "caused 27 counties inundated and 3.4 million victims".* How many actual lives were killed we don't know. If you have facts, let us hear from you

    CHINA, 1958 - 61

    As many as 20 million people died in this famine. *

    * We received the following response to this post

    Sirs: I would ask that you consider re-characterizing the 20-30 million who died in China during the period 1959-61 as a political blunder rather than a famine. Famines are typically understood to be the result of diminished food production due to weather or other natural disasters. This was not the case in China. Food production was for the most part normal during this period. What changed was the desire of local cadre wanting to look good and reporting increased food production following Mao's politics of "right" practices. Mao's government simply took their share of the harvest, 50%. But since the reported harvest was in fact inflated, what resulted was the entire production being shipped to Beijing. This more accurately could be labeled Mao's Holocaust.* Respectfully, Doug Searles

    AFRICA, 1981 - 1984

    Rivers and lakes dried up from the drought that had incredible impact on twenty African nations. During one season about 20,000 were starving to death EACH MONTH.* 150 million were facing starvation if help didn't come right away. People from around the world began to respond to this crisis - but for hundreds of thousands of people, it was too late. (If you have figures for this, please let us know. When combined with other relatively recent African famines, the figure is well over 1,000,000)

    NORTH KOREA, 1995-98

    Over 3 million are said to have died from famine and floods in North Korea.

    Nevermind the Bible says so many times that the last days were during the time of the NT (and likely continue on).

    Act 2:17 "'And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,... Pentecost as "last days"

    Heb 1:2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. Time of Jesus on earth as "last days"

    1Pe 4:7 The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. "End of all things" is near... like here!

    1Jn 2:18 Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. "This is the last hour"... b/c so many that oppose Jesus are here (present and perfect tenses!!!)

    Jud 1:18 They said to you, "In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions."

    You don't have to agree w/ the interpretations. I know the dispie interpretations. But we have Scripture that support our view. So we are guiding our views with a face value understanding of these texts. We are basing our views on Scripture. Hopefully, you can respect that much.

    The church... CHRISTIANITY... is an eschatological movement. The last days begun when Jesus began new creation in his resurrection. Thus we take part, in a small way now, when we partake in his resurrection. Thus Paul can make use of that language of new creation on a couple of occasions.

    :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

    Human beings are the same today that they were 2000 years ago. Many cultures have been corrupted by decadence and immorality throughout the ages. Empires come and go. God remains the same.

    We only "think" things are "worse" today, because we live in a culture becoming increasingly permissive, but that is simply an expression of the nature of humanity. That same rebellion is in US as well.

    what is really different here in america though is a cultural shift from at least tolerating and in many ways upholding Chrsitian views/values to being hostile to that now!

    So, are you prepping for doomsday, or are you banking on being raptured out of it?
