My father-in-law was a member of the 69th, a mechanic with the Flying Tigers. He was with the group that went to India, across India and then drove a truck in the convoy over the Burma Road. I have a photo of my wife with her foot on milepost 0 of the Burma Road just outside of Kunming China.

My wife and I were privileged to attend the last reunion of this famous group. The film was made for showing in China. The Flying Tigers are still considered great heros in China. That is why there is a mis-match in the audio. The young woman is speaking Chinese and English has been dubbed in.

The man who was a pilot at 19 told of the time his plane was badly damaged and yet he was able to shoot down two Japanese Zeros. I wish this story had been included in the video.

    Watch and enjoy the video.
