The Pharohs actually saved the grain that they collected to have to distribute when it was needed.

Our government on the other hand spends far more than they collect every year and are promising more of the same.

Why would a Christian advocate giving even more money to such a poor stewart?

Especially when they are advocating that other people do the giving to the government?

Boasting of your modesty I see.

Well, do not ask others questions you do not want to answer in return. So answer the question, "What have you done for the poor lately"? I will not consider it boasting, just informing.

We were running a budget surplus until your hero was elected in 2000. I guess he was a very poor steward. He started the first stimulus package. The economy went to pot under his watch. Very poor manager and steward ... bad combination

When did I ever say that Bush was my hero?

You have a very bad habit of putting words in other peoples' mouths.

And how does your statement justify giving more money to the poor stewarts currently in office?

Give us some examples of the good works. It might inspire others.

Glad you brought that up. You see a 20% tax rate and people encouraged to set up their own stores. Not a hint of socialism, and prosperity abounded. Hardly an endorsement of the Pharoh.

Yeah, after he took the coin from a fish's mouth. Where does he say to take another person's coat and clothe the poor with it ?

Sure. The original plan was for every man to do what was right in his own sight, and twelve judges kept the peace. Back then the lazy didn't eat. People who didn't do their share were not cared for at the expense of those who did.

No thanks. I unlike you I don't care to brag.

    You asked - I answered.

That is all that you will get.

Yeah, okay. So I guess the government is stealing from us all huh? I can think of a few other countries where the tax rate is lower and the poor take care of themselves. Whyn't you go live there?

I'll tell you why. Because mostly, while you are complaining about how bad we have it that we have to pay all this money out while the government wastes it, your conscience wouldn't allow you to live in a place where you saw half naked children running the streets eating whatever trash or crumbs they could find, even though their parents are to lazy or to ignorant to be able to find enough work to provide them with better.

You might not like paying taxes. You might not like this president (don't care for him myself, but an honest man will admit he didn't cause this mess). But there is no way YOU can prove from scripture that our government shouldn't try to provide what it can for those in need. If ya can, I'd like to hear it.

And while you is at it, ya think Pharaoh caught any slack for selling all that grain to those Hebrew boys who didn't have the foresight to put up for a potential natural diaster?

I would not consider it bragging. Just information and, as I said, it might inspire others.

    That's a misrepresentation of what I said, and it's silly. I won't address it.

We'll be there, soon enough, ifthis garbage isn't stopped.

An honest man would admit it is liberalism in general that put us here. Clinton, Bush, & Obama, all driving us to hell on the road paved with good intentions. Andon the other hand, you cannot prove to me, from scipture, that confiscatory tax rates ever fed one hungry child. Yet I showed you where a fair tax did.

    Good question. Did he ?

The poor you will always have with you. The commandment is for you to deal your bread to the poor, not to forcibly take the bread of someone else (i.e. steal) and deal that to the poor.

Of the Twelve Disciples, we heard expressed concern for the poor from Judas most of all, and he was a thief.

Taxes aren't stealing. What you fail to realize is that social programs benefit everyone because a healthy, educated society is good for all. A high tide raises all boats.

OK, I've decided a healthy position is between Aaron and CTB. As long as I'm a looong way from both, I should be fine.
