I couldn't work for two days because I washed my underwear and some clothing with Sun detergent. Caused rashes and itching. My wife itched also. Even when I rinsed my underwear over and over, the residue remained. Rashes came back so I had to buy new underwear. Nasty stuff. We use Oxyclean

We (my wife and I) use a supermarket's own brand (same as "generic"?) of powder suitable for sensitive skin.

My is allergic to Tide and Cheer. I switched about 2 yrs ago to the off brand from Dollar store, it's called Xtra, and it cleans just as good as the brand I was using. We also add a little oxy clean to loads. Cleans my husbands work uniforms better then when he used the rented uniforms fro work. (buys his own second hand now)

Oh, now I have several old laundry detergent commercials running around in my head!!! :BangHead:
Do you remember the one, "New Ajax Laundry Detergent is stronger than Dirt!", where the guy was in a suit of armor on top of a white stallion? I loved that one!

Everything makes my group itch! I use Purex's Free and Clear along with Downey's scentless, dyeless fabric softener. Bouce has a scentfree/dye free dryer sheet that I can use too.

I use All Free & Clear. Anything with scents and dyes makes me itch.
Recently tried Arm & Hammer Free, but went right back to All.
Will also put a small scoop of Oxyclean in most loads.

I hate that for you, because the main reason (other than price--coz it's almost ALWAYS cheapest here) that I use Purex is because of the Mountain Breeze fragrance....mmmmmm...I love that stuff....makes the whole house smell fresh and clean.

Does anybody remember the old Amway product SA8? It is still around, and that is what I use. Cleans the best, and no phosphates. I do not know of any allergic reactions or tests.

Up here in Washington state, phosphates will soon be banned, and this is a great product to meet the state requirements. Want to try it? PM me for more information. (I am NOT trying to advertise, but only to tell people about something I use).

My mother always used Tide, so I use Tide. I hope I never have to switch. It works great for us!

I use Spray 'n' Wash on the collars before I put them in the wash.

Use Tide, Bounce, and Downy...all with the Febreeze scent.

Two people stated in this thread they add Oxi Clean to the wash alongside their laundry soap.

The label says " Boost Your Detergent Power!"

Not to mention, in doing our laundry, I reduce it to 1/2 scoop

While others use laundry soap, spray n wash, and fabric softener

 My wife should have told me this!

Sensitive skin here too so I use one of two detergents that have proven OK for us: All Free and Clear or Cheer Free. Those are the only ones we can use. No fabric softener (that would kill them), so I use vinegar in the rinse water and then Bounce Free in the dryer.
