Ok, we've all whined and cried. Now let's list the positives of this place.
How has this place and it's people effected you?
I have learned a lot. From many. This place convicts me. Even if my computer is off, I know you're still in there. :D If I don't do my dishes for three days Keeper of My Home says....well, doesn't her name say it all? If I'm in a bad mood all I do is think of Joy. I have learned a lot from Chris Temple, who always is willing to teach. There is one certain person who I just can't seem to get along with, although I kinda like that person, and it has taught me patience. And the way people have been nice has taught me I need to be kinder to others.
There is a lot to learn from. We can learn from the good posts, for obvious reasons. We can learn how people think from the bad posts. And we can learn how to deal with fools by the way the smarter among us deal with the posts of the fools. [IMG]
    'Nuff said? Your turn!

Uh, before you say it Dr. Bob, I'm already dying laughing. Very funny. ;)

I see this board as a place of "light" in the midst of a "dark" world.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (Eph 5:8 NIV)

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? (2 Cor 6:14 NIV)

For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. (2 Cor 4:6-7 NIV)

There are numerous people who's light has been very positive for me. We here are like a charcoal fire: take a briquet out of the glowing pile and it quickly loses its glow (light). But on the basis of a unified effort, a number of briquets help and sustain each other to grow bright and warm.

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Mat 5:16 NIV)

Friendship is the biggest plus, I think for me. Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

From friends here, I have learned to study my Bible more thouroughly, pray harder, and be nice to those I disagree with doctrinally. (Well, I'm still working on that one.)

Keeper makes me feel like I am not the only one in the world that believes mommies should be at home.

I have a picture of 3 beautiful little girls on my frig that reminds me to pray for Gina every day.

BJ Halo is like a father who keeps us all in line and getting along.

Webmaster is ever elusive and has great mystery about him!

Dr. Bob doesn't take nonsense from anyone.

I guess I could go on and on describing the cyber-friends I have made here. I appreciate you each individually for what you bring to the BB, and for what it is collectively with you all here. [IMG]

First and foremost, I have learned a great deal in the very short time I've been here. I have come to admire and respect people I don't even know! To name a few, but not all
(and not in any particular order either):

    wellsjs
    BJHalo
    Dr. Bob
    Joy2
    KeeperofmyHome
    Chet
    Gina
    Theopolitan

gosh, so many more! I feel like I'm giving a speech after winning an oscar! *hehe*

I have learned that people (even Christians  )still have a wonderful sense of humor and I appreciate all of you putting up with mine [IMG]

    Ok, enough butt kissing!

    Love ya guys!

I've learned that you guys can convict people without making them feel terrible and worthless (i've gone through that on other boards).

    God's blessing to you all.

    Until next post, Adam

I must also give kudo's to the Webmaster for doing a terrific job with the Baptist Board.

This is not the forum I frequent most often,so I don't really know all the regulars that well. But I've been enriched and enlightened by many things here on the BB.

I appreciate the fact that the BB is clean and bright and organized. There are also some very brilliant, articulate people who post here.

Thanks for a great job, Webmaster! [IMG]

I have learned much since I have been here. I have had questions answered, I have had my beleifs challenged, I have been encouraged and I have grown because of it. I don't know about most of you, but I do not bother to log on without having my Bible handy. I seem to need it an awful lot and anything that causes you to read more of the Word has to be a good thing!

I come here almost every day (sometimes several times a day) and though I may go a while without posting, I am still reading, learning and absorbing all that is said. I am thankful that this board is here, for during the week when I am not in His house or with other believers here locally, I have this haven to come to.

I may not always agree with everyone here, (though I respect everyone) but that is ok, for I like to have my beleifs challenged. It either leads to a stronger confirmation of my beliefs or it will convict and correct my mistakes and help me walk closer to my Lord. Either way, nothing but good can come from it all.

Anything that puts one christian in touch with another has got to be a positive thing. In working with the homeless people, I was quick to find out that the reason most of them have wound up the way they have is because they lost touch with those around them. Then of course, when they really needed something they had no one to turn to. And I have yet to come across one homeless person who became homeless before they got saved. Don't get me wrong, I'm in the middle of my own situation, but I'll tell you that there is a big difference between living on the streets and living in my mothers house. Several months ago I came across the Baptist Board and have since discovered other boards like it, And I'm for them. As christians we all make up a part of God's family. Quite simply, families communicate!
    yours in Christ, Dave

Still waiting for the positives. It seems that whenever I post something it gets shot down in flames. :(

Hmm Pawn Raider. I loved the little frownie in your last post. Very dramatic looking. [IMG]
Did you get your name because you play chess? I didn't see it in your profile.
Come on now, I have some pretty entertaining posts. Don't tell me that in all my mood swings throughout all my time here there hasn't been as least ONE positive thing. I am personally saddened. And I can be even more dramatic about it than you. Watch THIS! :( :( See? I'll eagerly await your positive reply. [IMG]

I learn something new everday on this site....it keeps me informed and it sharpens my spiritual tools. I am learning how to respond to opposition.

I never could have anticipated the variety of Baptist positions on doctrine that I've encountered here. I live in a small town , and coming here is like visiting the big city sometimes. Lots of colorful characters, and eye opening issues.

Needless to say, I only want to visit the city...couldn't stand living there. The pace is just too fast sometimes....but just like visiting a big city...one can find where they are comfortable...lots of forums and topics to choose from..

I've learned how to voice what I believe, and now in person I am not affraid to discuss the bible, like in class in church, or with others I may meet.
On the BB their are christians you can fall back on when you need some support.

    You're right Katie! [IMG]
Once you get started doing something like this, it does wonders for your ability to be more open in discussions in "real" life!

I two agree with Katie on her points, I still keep my head down to some degree, but little by little I'm posting a little more here and a little more there. My biggest worry is I don't want to offend anyone just because I don't see eye to eye with them on different issues. If I get angry by something someone has posted, I sign off, and get away from my computer, until I've prayed about it. Most times someone else has come along posted my same thoughts when I do return, so I guess in a lot of cases I just let others be my mouth piece, so to speak. :D That's not a bad thing is it? But, I've learned to love and care for the people on this board, even if we don't see things the same way every time. I find myself wondering how this one or that one is doing today, because I know they are going thru some trials in their lives, and will stop whatever I'm doing and say a prayer for them. I think the pictures by their names have helped too, it seems to make it feel a little more personal.
Hugs to all on the Baptist Board!
    Sue

Sue, no it's not a bad thing. I do it too sometimes. I'll start totype a message and just say no, maybe later, becasue I'm angry, or I want to go and makesure of what I am about to write. Then if someone else does it before me, I just figure they did it better then I was going to in the state I was in earlier. sometimes I just drop conversatins in here because I know I'm loosing my control on the sibject, I'd rather drop out of it then, no matter what the other person thinks of me because I didn't return their post.
I find that sometimes I stop and wonder about someone here becasue I know it is a tough time for them. I stop frequesntly and pray for people. This place has become like a family to me. There are people here that I love, even if we disagree.
I really want to say thank you to everyone who has suported me in this situation with my son. You give me strength.
