We have to wash the Veggies we eat. We have a garden and spray it for pests and the like. That has to be washed off of the veggies.

I agree with the poster who says that you need to wash the fruits we buy at the supermarket. You do not know what has been on the fruit of Veggie, much less who has been handling it.

I know it's kind of late to reply to this post, but for anybody else with this problem, I had to give up ice cream due to sensitive teeth, but after using a tooth paste like Aim Sensitive or Colgate for sentitive teeth, I was able to eat ice cream again with no problems (. . .well. . . except for lactose intolernce. . .but I got that one covered too [IMG] )

In some restaurants (especially fast food) there is a 5-10 second rule.

If food is dropped on the floor and picked up within that time limit, it may still be served to customers.

You think this just happens in Illinois???

Check Texas out and most of the other 50 states!

If food falls on the floor, and there is no one else to see it, is it dirty?

This poll really makes me rethink the idea of having a barbeque with some of you guys

It probably happens here, but it is illegal here. Our health inspectors are pretty darn rigid.

I didn't say it was legal. I said it happens.

Health inspectors are not around every moment of the day to watch all these places no matter how rigid. It happens there and probably more than anyone would ever care to admit.

I voted yes to washing fruits and vegetables, but more because of the risk of salmonella than because of pesticides. I have some grapes right now imported from Mexico and I'm a little leery of them.

I voted other on the floor rule. If I just cleaned the floor and it's a dry food, I'll eat it. Otherwise I wash it or throw it out.

I voted "I like my ice cream sprinkles!" I can't eat ice cream because of allergies, but I can eat the sprinkles.
