Recent events once again demonstrate that there is no point arguing with liberals. Reason, facts, truth – these bourgeois concepts mean nothing to the adherents of progressivism. You are never going to change the mind of someone who believes in nothing except the imperative of his own absolute power. You simply have to defeat him.

Progressivism is not a coherent ideology so much as a purpose – to control every aspect of our lives. It is about consolidating progressive power. Nothing else matters. That includes the truth.

This is why we see YouTube videos of Harry Reid, Joe Biden and Barack Obama waxing eloquently, while in the minority, about the moral necessity of the preserving the filibuster that they just shot through the forehead when in the majority.

This is what led to an agreement ensuring that a power that explicitly states its intention to reboot the Holocaust, once it finishes hanging all its gays, will be able to create the means to do so.

This is the reason the President repeated dozens of times that if you like your health plan and your doctor you can keep them even though he knew this to be an outright lie.

Progressivism is not about principles but necessity. Yesterday, the left needed the filibuster to bar conservative judges. Today, it needs to pack courts with allies who will rule in whatever way progressives need, so the filibuster goes.

Liberal secular humanists criticize Christians for having what they describe as "blind faith in God," yet the left clings to its socialist notions -- in spite of socialism’s consistent record of failure -- out of blind faith. The often displayed characterists of arrogance, false compassion, emotionalism, and blind faith in a system that not only does not work but breeds laziness, sloth, and irresponsibility are sure signs you are dealing with a socialist. regardless of what he/she might prefer to call him/herself.

Until the United States revives the characteristics of thrift, diligence, self-reliance, self-discipline, responsibility, accountability, and hard work -- the foundation upon which it was built -- all of the bailouts, handouts, and entitlements in the world are worthless, money that could be much better spent instead being poured into a black hole. In the age of global competition, the U.S. cannot win with an inefficient, government-controlled economy. Only an unfettered free-market economy will allow us as a nation to regain our status as the world’s economic superpower. Make no mistake, the world needs such a power at the top of the pyramid. It is not "evil," "domineering," "enslaving," or any of the other foolish terms applied to our corporate free enterprise structure.

Socialists claim to want to help people, but their claim cannot stand up to the scrutiny of either logic or common sense. How, for example, do you help the jobless by hurting the entrepreneurs who create jobs? Ask that of a liberal/socialist -- they are essentially the same thing, "liberal" being the preferred term for adherents to the corrupt system because of the obvious and well-deserved negative connotations of being called a "socialist" -- and you will get either no answer, or a barrage of meaningless nonsense meant to misdirect the question.

In truth, the best way to help someone is to empower him to help himself. But socialists describing themselves as "liberals" who have set themselves as the self-appointed nannies of American society do not like to see people helping themselves. Too much self-reliance and Americans might stop viewing themselves as victims, bringing about the well-deserved demise of this idiotic philosophy.
