Rush "says" he doesn't endorse candidates prior to the primaries but if I have any ability to read between the lines -- it seems to me the he surely isn't pulling for Huckabee. I think he's a Romney guy.

    Concur?

    Disagree?

He hasn't come close to endorsing anyone.

But my gut tells me he's a Fred Thompson guy. Romney's a liberal, and el Rushbo can see right thru that kind of stuff.

    You might be right........

But after Romney's speech about mormonism last week......... Rush just seems to be gushing about him.

Maybe he just liked the speech but I've listened to Rush for a long time and I just think he's infatuated with Mitt.

Yeah, he liked the speech, I did too. Romney's an excellent speaker. But Romney's record of flip-flopping, & his liberal policies concerning health care won't be ignored. Rush is too much a Reaganite.

Good to meet a fellow ditto head.

Got to listen to Rush today. He had a caller from Germany(An American Citizen from South Carolina) questioning about candidates ( I believe she was a Thompson follower) . Rush said not to count him out although he is not doing good.
So although this doesn't count as an endorsement it does reveal that Fred Thompson is one of the candidates that Rush does favor.

I heard Rush say the only candidate that sounds conservative is Fred Thompson. I hope Rush is a FT guy. (I'm sorta/kinda a FT guy myself.) FT deserves more attention than he's getting.

    !

Yes -- a ditto head I am! Nice to meet you too!

I'm also a Huckabee guy and I'm a bit disappointed that Rush *seems* to be sending a subtle anti- Huck vibe.

I could be wrong but that's the feeling I get.

Rush is a huge fan of National Review, an excellent conservative magazine founded by legendary pundit William F. Buckley. NR can't stand Huckabee, mostly for his constant complaining about "corporate greed." So I'm guessing that Rush doesn't like Huckabee either.

FT has to create "more attention" for himself.

Frankly, I think I like most of his stances but his campaign is only slightly more energetic than a corpse.

His lack of enthusiasm is a valid complaint. However, TomVols, made an excellent point the other day about FT going for substance over style and sticking strictly to the issues. I think there's something to be said for a guy who's less concerned about image than issues. But it can make for a boring campaign.

I guess I have doubts about this being his "strategy." Seems to me it has more to do with his personality and lack of passion for this endeavor. Who knows, though.

I got that feeling too today. But I only heard him for about 5-6 minutes, apparently at the right time. So far Huckabee is on my A list.

Rush did bring up Huckabee's Illegal Imagration record while Gov in Arkansas. It was not a positive for Huckabee. I do not think that Rush has brought out to many negatives about any other Republican.

Rush Limbaugh is not a conservative evangelical. He is more of an economic conservative.

His brother David is an evangelical Christian . He's an excellent writer , but his influence isn't nearly as strong as that of Rush .

Yeah -- you're right. As much as I'd *like* Rush to demonstrate more overtly Christian philosophies.......... he doesn't.

However, I think he does realize and appreciate the fact that a large portion of his fan base is conservative evengelicals............. and so he typically treads lightly when he is in disagreement with them (us).

People who vote on the basis of the endorsement of someone else don't deserve the vote. They need to learn to think for themselves.
