    Hi folks

I am working an update of our hymnal, and trying to properly attribute the hymns to the writers of their lyrics. The following list of first lines are hymns of concern.

    66. Lost In the Ruins of The Fall
    85. Didst thou, dear Jesus, suffer shame
    95. Did Christ the Great Example Lead
    96. Give me Thy Spirit, O My God
    100. Ye Messengers of Christ
134 Go on, Ye Pilgrims, While Below
138 Lord, Grant A Smile Before We Part ---Herbert
    140. Lord, Before We Leave Thy Temple
176 An Alien from God, and a Stranger to Grace
181 How Shall I My Savior Set Forth? _______ Maxwell
195 O Happy time, long waited for,
197 If God is Mine, Then Present Things (Rippon’s Collection)
208 The angels that watched round the tomb
218 You may sing of the beauties of mountain and dale
225 Mixtures of joy and sorrow I daily do pass through
    232 Salvation! O Mysterious Plan
    234. O Happy day, when saints shall meet,
235 Brethren, I bid you all farewell
245 A Child of Jehovah, A subject of grace
248 I Saw The Jewish Temple Purged
251 O Could I find, from day to day
254 Jesus Is All I Wish or Want
    259 Assist thy servant Lord
274 I Have Sought Round This Verdant Earth For Unfading Joy
276 What This That Steals, That Steals Upon My Frame
278 Dear Is the Spot Where Christians Sleep
298 Dearest Savior, help thy servant
301 Long Have I Tried Terrestrial Joys
302 Hail! Ye Foll'wers of the Lamb. ________ Benedict
303 What a Mercy of Mercies Is This
309 Tis Hard, When We Are Sick and Poor
    312 In Sharon’s lovely Rose
314 There is a place of hallowed peace
315 I Love thee my Saviour, I love thee my Lord
    318 Eternal Spirit, Heav'nly Dove
319 Amazing Grace! And Shall I Still
320 Apostles Trod This Holy Ground

Full text of these hymns as we use them may be found here: Sovreign Grace Hymns

Any help in figureing these out would be appreciated. I have already run all of them through a Google and a dogpile search and came up blank.

    Warm regards
    Jeff Weaver

    'Tis a help!

    Many thanks.

Hope all is well in Okie land. I've been spending a lot of time of late in Hokie land. (If you don't get it, dont worry its a Virginia thing.)

I thought the only visitors to Hokieland were allowed from D.C. along the Robert Byrd Memorial Expressway and One-Way Gravy Train. My mistake.
