I own a number of texts on missiology, the history of missions, and specific missionary biographies but I would like to know of any such book that has been especially meaningful to any of the forum participants.

    Thanks in advance!

I have read 'From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya: A Biographical History of Christian Missions'. Author is Ruth A. Tucker. This is a great overview of some of the most famous missionaries and their work. Excellent book.

Golden Boats from Burma, a biography of Ann Hasseltine Judson by Gordon Langley Hall, 1961. I've just begun to read this so I can't pass judgment on it just yet, but it seems engagingly written.

    Thanks Liland [IMG] [IMG]

I have this one and it's companion about Adoniram. I have a number of others (Carey, Taylor, John Paton, Elliot - she should be required reading for any Christian, etc...)

I have found that missionary bios are among the most inspirational literature ever written.

I agree with td, 'From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya' is excellent. Moody Broadcasting did a bunch of radio series years ago called "Stories of Great Christians. They were wonderful. My favorite is William Carey (in fact I named my son William Carey Felderman). [IMG]
