Does anyone know a website or anyone on here, from where I can get some old time hymn singing...like Primitative, Old Regular, United, and so forth.

If you have some, I'd be willing to send you a tape to copy for me and to pay you for postage!

    Thanks...

Sometimes you can get old hymnals at used bookstores.

Good to see a fellow United Baptist on here. I believe you are looking for lined-out songs? I found this website most useful: Digital Library of Appalachia

You can click on the title of the song and then click on "click here to display item". This will ask if you want to download the song in mp3 format. It's a great website.

I have a very old hymnal, and I have a folk-song book with "music of the past," that is mainly hymnal. Is there something in particular you are looking for?

Sorry about the broken link. I copied it from my web page.

    EKR:

There is another site at Berea College. It's under "Guide to the William H. Tallmadge Baptist Hymnody Collection Southern Appalachian Archives".

This is where I first found information on ordering tapes of services with singing and preaching.

I believe it is some of the same work on the Digital Library site also.

However, this site seems to be down at the moment.

David you are from Missouri, Glad to see another fellow Missourian, Ya know Missouri is the Policial Heartbeat of the nation. There has only been 1 election in the past 104 years that Missouri's electorial votes didn't go to the person, that became the president.

Kayla, David (& any others from the "Show Me State")--

Since Kayla mentioned something about MO's connection with the Presidency, I thought you might want to go to this link

    http://usgovinfo.about.com/blatchison.htm

to read about a US Senator from Missouri who was President of the United States for one day. [At least HE claimed he was!]
