Losing one's salvation

    Abiding is for inheritance. Inheritance is a family matter. Inheritance can be cut down or even forfeited completely.

    However, you can never be unborn. Although you may suffer loss or even chastisement, the work of Jesus on the cross was perfect and requires no "abiding" on your part to maintain it. That's adding to his work for your salvation.

    Yup, we've already established that we disagree on what "abiding" means. Fortunately, salvation does not depend on perfect understanding of every scripture. Good thing... for both of us, I think.

    No, you are correct. Salvation does not depend upon our works.
