Well that's fine. Still waiting for them to rebuke Rep. Pete Stark for calling Bush a liar twice in the same speech.

    Quote -

"You gonna tell us lies like you're telling us today? Is that how you're going to fund the war? You don't have enough money to fund the war or children. But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President's amusement.....But President Bush’s statements about children’s health shouldn’t be taken any more seriously than his lies about the war in Iraq. The truth is that Bush just likes to blow things up".

Stark did not interrupt Bush while he was giving a speech. Stark had the floor. Wilson did not. Big difference.

So then the real problem is not what he said but simply that he interrupted the President while he had the floor....is that right?

The House vote was meaningless and useless.

If anything, it will aid Wilson, and other republicans as well.

The hypocrisy of it hasn't gone unnoticed by americans.

For me the first (and biggest) one is the one you mentioned...it is a minor issue that Wilson was incorrect, but that is his right to be an idiot. Just pick the right time and place to be foolish.

So if he had interrupted the President and simply said "Your are right talk on!" you would be just as outraged?

Moot point...it didn't happen. But at least that would not be as rude. There is plenty of time for rebuttals...on the air, on the Sunday talk show circuit, etc. There is no shortage of venues to express counter opinions.

That said, applause is fine. Shouting out anything is interrupting and rude.

It's not a moot point. It's a simple question that Rev asked. Previously you said that the first and biggest issue was that he interrupted the President while he had the floor. If you are being honest, then someone shouting out an "Amen!" or "Right on brother!" should be equally as appalling to you.

So do you think it is okay to shout "Amen" when a preacher is speaking, and equalling okay to shout "You Lie!" if you disagree?

I'm not a shouter in either instance personally, but obviously I think the shouting of Amen is ok while the shouting of You Lie is not. I'm not the one saying that the interuption was the big problem though, you are[b/].

You still didn't answer the question. If you now feel that it isn't just the interuption, but also the content of the interuption, then it's ok to admit your earlier statement was said in haste.

So there is an acceptable level of rudeness in the house of congress for you?

Any level of rudeness is acceptable to MP as long as it's democrats that are being rude.

Wrong again MP. The democrats admitted that there were no enforcement provisions to keep illegals out of the program and now are embracing such proposals after defeating several Republican amendments to put enforcement provisions in the bill. So to borrow a much used term; "technically" Wilson was correct.

I do not believe Obama said there were enforcement provisions.

Right. This issue is one the Cons made up to excuse Wilson. Obama didn't write the bill. Congress did. More disingenuous behavior by the GOP.

Not at all. I stand by the statement. I have not been one bit inconsistent. My big issue is the rude shouting. Why are you having trouble with that?
