    Luke 21:36
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Are we to be watching and praying to escape all these things, and to stand before the Son of man?

Those who are in Christ are part of his ONE body. Christ will not divide his body up into multiple bodies.

James said "Are we to be watching and praying to escape all these things"

The verse doesn't say to pray to escape all these things. It says to pray to be accounted worthy to escape. Subtle but significant difference.

Good catch natters. The question stands though, is this not a command to the church? If we are told to pray this, then it stands to reason that there is a possibility we might not be accounted worthy? Does Jesus ever say things just to be talking?

James said "The question stands though, is this not a command to the church?"

    Sure.

James said "If we are told to pray this, then it stands to reason that there is a possibility we might not be accounted worthy?"

Sure. Just like Christ warned two verses earlier, about getting caught up in the trappings of life and not watching.

James said "Does Jesus ever say things just to be talking?"

    I doubt it.
