Okay all you mac lovers, I just picked up a G3 266 198 meg laptop mac. What is the best system for it? (That will run really well on it.) Thanks in advance. Have 7 in the garage, didn't like 9 on the older laptop so other suggestions?

If your lappy is equipped with Firewire, you can try squeezing OS X on the system. It won't be fast, but it will look purty. :)

You will need at least 256MB RAM though.

    thanks.

Finally found a bit of info on apple's site, the thing has max of 198 but do list os 10.2.8 or earlier so may look for a copy of that one.

Would like to get 10 so I can have a better idea what the mac is like. Probably won't be a main puter so speed won't be a big issue.

My husband says that 9 would run the best but you can get 10.2 to run adequately on it.

You can dual boot if you need too.
Which version of 10 did you get?
10.2 is probably the last supported one.

I picked up 10.0.3 and 8.1. I just wanted to try 10 to see what it is like and will snoop 8 for awhile as well. Have a couple of older units that will run 8 as well that now have 7.1 on them. All on ebay as was the computer so cheap
