Marginal Readings in the Masoretic Text

    In the OT, the standard Masoretic text contains alternate readings in the margin. This occurs in over 300 locations. Would it be acceptable for a translation to incorporate one or more of those alternate readings into the main text of the translation? I’m particularly interested in the KJVO perspective on this question.
