    OOPSIE!

    A gap in the state common law marriage rules in Colorado mean 12-year old girls can now declare themselves married without parental permission. The same goes for 14-year old boys. With origins in English common law, the gap came to light when a 15 year old girl who was common law wife to a 38 year old man had their marriage upheld. The state legislature is looking at changing the law now.

    From the Denver Post article, here is how easy it is to get married in Colorado:
    That part is fine...it's what is basically the legality of adults engaging in sexual contact with a minor child that really disturbs me about this.
