Did your church have any special observance of MLK day today?

For those off from work, our church has a day of service to the community, working with other churches. There is a specific emphasis on working alongside fellow diverse Christian congregations (Latino, African-American, Arabic-language, Asian, predominantly white, etc.) on projects of mutual concern. The fellowship and service together reaffirms existing relationships and builds new ones.

This year I think they are working on some major labor-intensive projects for the major homeless shelter here in town. It is an extension of the continuing work we do for and with the homeless community.
