“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. “You are the light of the world." (NASB)

    Salt of the EARTH.
    Light of the WORLD.

Question: can someone who knows Greek tell me if there is a difference in Greek? There are two different English words. I just wondered if there were 2 different words in Greek? Or if it is the same Greek word translated into 2 different words.

If they are 2 distinct words in Greek, what would be the implication, if any?

    Thanks!

Ok. I wonder if the difference actually makes a difference?
