Ummm, no thanx. They deserve each other. And if you get your info from either one of those, then I don't blame you for not showing up around here a lot, lately.

How about Bob Barr taking Senator McCain's place?

Nah, just VERY BUSY lately. The market is so volatile my workload has tripled.

Don't worry: you'll hear all about it.

This is an old talking point.
Come on, you can do better than that.

If Senator McCain needs to be understand that if he becomes president that he can't suspend being president during a crisis. If he can't fly to Oxford for a few hours on Friday night then he really needs to withdraw from the race right now and allow the GOP to pick a candidate who can handle the task.

Come on: now we are being asked to believe in conspiracy theories?
Perhaps you could provide some evidence for such a bizarre claim.

At least Obama isn't afraid to debate the issues like McCain. It appears like McCain is using this as an excuse to keep from looking bad, which he will probably do against Obama.

Seems like just a few days ago, McCain said the economy is basically in good shape. Just another flip-flop on McCain's part!

I think this is exactly the point. Obama wants to suspend solving the problem so he can keep running for office. I think that shows abysmal judgment that will only get magnified under real pressure. In this case, McCain is showing far better judgment and making Obama look like a selfish buffoon in the process.

I am quite fond of you, Pastor Larry, and hope that all is well with you and yours. However, I strongly disagree with you. That doesn't change the fact that I am quite fond of you though.

FWIW, I pray for you every morning - that God will continue to bless you and your ministry,

I don't think McCain is afraid to debate issues. Remember McCain is the one who challenged Obama to a series of town hall meetings and Obama refused. Obama doesn't want a solution, and so he is working to avoid one.

Do you have a link for this? The only thing I recall him saying is that the fundamentals of the economy are strong, which is undeniably true. I talked to two financial managers the day after he said that and asked them about it. They both, without hesitation, said absolutely. These economic problems are relatively isolated in terms of the market. They are serious, but relatively isolated.

    What a silly statement.

Neither one of the candidates has been involved in the negotiations. It would be asinine to inject presidential politics into this issue as Senator McCain wants to do.

Wrong, Obama says they should be able to do both. He isn't turning his back on the problem.

I think he made a profound statement by saying the people deserve to hear from the potential president. Not a stab or s cheesy ad, let them discuss this economy and solutions to the problem.

Wrong, Obama feels the American people deserve to hear from the candidates and future president. This is the best time for them to show us how ready they are to take control of the wheel. This is not the time to go hide on the Hill.

The debate will only be 1.5 hours. Surely they can come off the Hill that long to address the nation.

Right, McCain canceled with David but then went and did an interview with Katie Couric. Whose interest does he really have?

President Bush disagreed with you in his speech tonight. He said:

"Financial assets related to home mortgages have lost value during the house decline, and the banks holding these assets have restricted credit. As a result, our entire economy is in danger."

But the debate is supposed to be about foreign policy, not the economy or solutions to the problem.

Obama's siren song, "it's all about me....it's all about me...." What a selfish, self-centered, self-serving evil man. And yes, I did say evil and will not retract it. Anyone who collects a pay check and doesn't do their job is a thief. At least Jesse James used a gun.

Why doesn't he go back to DC and do the JOB he was elected to do by the people of Illinois? After all, he helped create this mess!

    1) So are you. So am I. Every human being who ever lived in history has been evil - except one - Christ Jesus. You do believe the Bible, right, LE?

    2) Why did you not include Senator McCain in this? He hasn't been around the Capitol much lately, either.

Our foreign position is greatly impacted by the current economic crises. They are so intertwined they can't be separated.

Perhaps McCain should have asked to change the venue to economics.

I still say the people deserve to hear from our future president.

PS... I am watching a McCain ad so I guess he didn't suspend his campaign.

Hey, look on the bright side. This just gives Obama's speech writers more time to prepare his remarks. He isn't up to a real debate anyway without his speech writers reviewing them ahead of time or he wouldn't have turned down all those requests from John McCain for Town Hall meetings.....
