They will both be Washington today as they are meeting with the president.

That tells me there's not a dime's worth of difference between the two of them.

I'm back to Chuck Baldwin. I want no part of this garbage.

Well, I am considering a change of heart as well. Don't know what I will do if I can't vote for McCain/Palin though :(.

The thing is, the attacks on Palin have endeared her to me, and I want to see her take them on. If McCain wants my vote, he will have to turn her loose, and stop making her mirror him. I believe she can handle it.

I hope you are correct and McCain does indeed lose the election.

My answer would be no. Mortgage-backed securities definitely serve a purpose.

Consider a local bank in El Dorado, AR. Now what if a local bank had more mortgages than they could take on their balance sheet? The bank is able to make loans, then subsequently sell these mortgages, and free up additional capital to more loans in the community. These mortgages are pooled, then sold as a mortgage-backed security.

There are some among us (myself included) that feel this whole debacle is a direct result of the privatization of FNMA and Freddie Mac (thanks again, President Johnson). Notice that you aren't hearing about problems at Ginnie Mae (GNMA) - I have yet to hear about big money being paid to Congressmen and lobbyists. The mortgages were packaged with these bad ones, and sold to people who were assuming they had a safe investment.

I posted it prior, but read this article by former Governor Spitzer:
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/13/AR2008021302783.html

This was written about three weeks before the Justice Department destroyed him.

    Regards,
    BiR

But he didn't shut down his campaign claiming to be headed to DC to save the nation.

It is a strange thing for a candidate for the presidency to say, "This is so serious I won't tell you what I would do." That is basically what McCain was saying when he suspended his campaign.

    I missed that one.

Can you cite the quote of McCain saying that he was headed to DC to save the nation.

I'm also wondering why it took so much prodding to get Obama to do his job of Senator

Well, I guess his hands were tied. He couldn't leave the keys to his copilot so he had to park the plane.

    1. The Dems are in agreement and don't need their leader there

    2. Obama is in the middle of trying to get the highest office in the Nation

    3. He knew they wouldn't get much done with TV camera's and interviews after every word.

Sorry, I reread your answer several times and I just keep missing it.

What is your source for the quote of McCain saying that he was headed to DC to save the nation?

The bill only needs 50% to pass. 40% opposition isn't a problem so there is nothing for Obama to do except cross the isle and get the Republican's on board. And you know that won't happen.

Need I show the republican opposition?
