McCain volunteer assaulted with knife

Very sad, and frightening, story from Pittsburgh.

I had considered all the talk about rioting if Obama loses to be nonsense, but now I'm not so sure.

I wonder if this will be investigated as a hate-crime?

The story makes it clear that the lady was being robbed and the perp noticed she had McCain stickers on her vehicle. He then became enraged and beat her up, carving a "B" on her face.

I guess you'll have to ask the guy who did it, if he is caught.

The more I think about it, I don't know if it's real or not.

The "B" would be backward if he had knocked her down, and then while she was sitting on the ground, stood behind her to brace her head while he made the "B". That seems to support her story, IMO, since she probably wouldn't think of that kind of detail if she faked the incident.

On the other hand, the "B" was described as more of a "scratch" than a cut. It doesn't look to have much depth, but it's hard to tell. It's hard to image a 200 lb. man digging a knife into a woman's face and not having more serious wounds. It might discredit her story somewhat if the wounds aren't very deep. But then again, maybe the perp wasn't a "monster" and was satisfied to make the scratches to make his point. Hard to say on this one.

She didn't want to seek medical attention. IMO, that seems to discredit her story, since a person, especially a lady, would have been much more concerned about a permanent scar on her face.

The incident occurred outside the camera view of the ATM, which could simply mean the perp waited until she walked away so he wouldn't be caught on camera, or that it didn't happen there at all. She will be on the camera though, that could support her story. But she did leave to go to a friend's house and then drove back before calling the police or going to the hospital. That seems to discredit her story.

I think I'll give her the benefit of the doubt unless and until more evidence is revealed.

I think both parties are responding appropriately to the incident.

WOW! I really didn't even think of that. How many times have we heard of people committing crimes and then blaming it on the "medium built black man"?

Then again, are we in such a condition in this country that no one can be taken at their word? Do we suspect people are lying until they prove they are not lying? I guess we'll know more as the investigation continues.

This has been a very strange election cycle! I am really getting sick of it all!

This story seemed to have more information. It says she was parked in front of the ATM and that's where the incident took place. The police are looking at the camera footage from the ATM, so it should be pretty easy to verify that it took place or not.

This story also says she was going to the hospital today.

I guess we'll see if it is legit.

I don't remember saying that Obama was the man who robbed the woman.

In case you thought I had said that, please rest peacefully....I don't believe Obama robbed the woman and carved a "B" in her face.
