President Obama is suggesting that his proposed health plan that is expected to cost over 600 billion (and some say will climb to 1 trillion) over the next ten years could be paid for with cuts in Medicare and Medicaid...what?

Is this the same Obama that blasted Bush for cutting back in some federal entitlement programs?

"Obama's plan would set aside $634 billion over 10 years in a major effort to cover all Americans — a goal that could cost more than $1 trillion. Half the money would come from tax increases on upper-income earners; the other half from cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. Private insurance plans serving Medicare seniors would take the biggest hit, but hospitals, drug companies and home health agencies also face cuts."

Yep, lets cut back on the health care for folks that spent 40 years of their life earning.:BangHead:

We can't continue to have health care costs in the country rising at a rate of eating up an additional 2% of GDP year after year after year...

Other countries provide decent health care for all of their citizens at costs way less than we spend and we only cover about 85% of our cit1zens. We need to learn from these countries and incorporate the good parts of their systems while rejecting the bad parts.

Yep, that's right. It won't be called that, of course. Health care will just be "refused" because it won't be covered by Medicare and the patient will die because treatment will not be rendered.

Remember what Tom daschle said, that he admired the European's ability to accept terminal diagnoses....

Do conservatives have any substantive, real world proposals to get the cost of health care under control?

Or can conservatives only criticize those who do?

    Thanks, Bro. Curtis.

Do you have a link to a document that provides a full scale write up, not just bullet points?

What, are we in kindergarten, now ? Find one yourself, and dismantle it. Or do you just want to criticize, and offer no alternatives ?

    :wavey:

Those two say pretty much the same thing. Why add a bunch of lawyer talk to them ? Those points are pretty self-explanatory, and should give you something to argue against.
