Ill get the ball rolling with my first nomination of the new year.

I nominate Helen. Her input in the
Daily Readings forum has been wonderful. She has shed alot of light on some very complex issues. Her posts clearly state when she is expressing opinion, and when she is or is not basing her answers on scripture.

My first nominee will be Barnabas Halo. Again, as I said in the last nomination thread, he is just a good example of a peacemaker even when we don't agree on anything.

I think that the post Clint put in the thread "Christlikeness in Everything" earns him the honor hands down. Please everyone go read it.

Anything for you my dear friend and brother in Christ!

By the way, since I'm in this thread, I'd like to nominate Brother Barnabas Halo...all the reasons are obvious, he displays the same genuiness, helpfulness and kindness (not to mention his awesome knowledge of the scriptures) to all! I truly do have the utmost respect for you and altho I have never seen you and may never get the opportunity to meet you in person, I do, in fact, consider you a friend! Praise the Lord for people like you!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Kathy <><. It is very humbing that there are people who think about you in that manner. I think that I speak for all of BB when I say that you, Kathy, on the other hand has earned the vote for every member for creating and maintaining the Funny Quotes from BB Members. The thread was indeed so successful that the Webmaster saved it for the Archives. So, you've got my vote Kathy, hands down. [IMG]

Perhaps it is a bit early in the year to throw in my nomination but I feel moved to do so. I have been a member of this internet community for four months and have gained some sense of the personalities here that have led me to this posting. I have even come to consider some of you friends.
That being said, I would like to say that there are many members here that are certainly deserving of recognition. RLVaughn, whom I nominated last year, continues to be an incredible resource for me in my exploration of Baptist history. Helen, sticks to her guns and is certainly recognized as an authority by many on this board, whether they be for her or against her, and I would add that she and John Wells have been excellent commentators on the Bible reading forum. Even though I have disagreed with her in the past, I very much appreciate Joy spurring the ladies to deeper thought as moderator of the womens' forums. Flyfree (Brother Adam) is certainly deserving in that he exhibits a true yearning for deeper knowledge and shows himself to be a true scholar in doing so. Webmaster last year declined any nominations but there is no doubt that he deserves credit for giving us all such a great sounding board in this website.
But when it comes down to brass tacks, my nomination goes to two men who have repeatedly in every posting shown themselves to be gentle, loving, caring Christians that not only make us smile, but also show us an example of how Christian gentlemen should interact with others. Therefore, with 344 days left in the year, I nominate Tyndale1946 and Barnabas to be the members of the year 2002.

Thanks to all of you

- Clint

This is a pretty swell reward. Just like the NBA MVP and the Oscars. Nothing beats the approval of your peers.

I am going to throw out my next two nominations.

1. Clint Kritzer - for his tireless work here on the BB both in his well thought out posts and in his duties a moderator.

2. Barnabas - for his efforts to keep the BB a place here we can find good Christian fellowship.

I nominate the Barbarian. He is a christian who has endured attacks because of his harmonizing science with his christianity.

Cheers

For my next voting or nomination experience, I would like to recommend Clint Kritzer because I think he is actually a spy, like "get smart" or "get that IP".
