“But all their works they do to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, and love the chief place at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called of men, Rabbi. But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your teacher, and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your Father, even he who is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your master, even the Christ. But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted” (Mt. 23:5-12).

Folks usually just call me preacher. The only time I have ever been called reverend is by someone who does not go to church who is just trying to be respectful.

Sounds like a good God ordered teaching moment to me.

Naaa.....I don't see it as quite the problem as you do. Making a mountain out of a molehill is never helpful.

correcting a false understanding of anything that deals with Scripture is always worth my time. Why let them continue in ignorance when the truth will set them free?

OK well you need to use a little wisdom.

Pro_29:11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

To some I am Reverend .... to others Pastor .... and to all others ... I am a child of the living God, saved by His Grace .... and the latter is what I always want to be known as! Just a child of the living God. The truth is, I hold no honor or personal glory in the titles given to me by man. The only title I hold and cherish is that of Son of God!

Here's the title I like the best:

    Forgiven.

for a "REV" you sure seem to take issue with both Scripture (can never read it often enough) and the correction of error by the correct understanding of said Scripture as you have denouced both within your last three comments. Care to start another thread and explain yourself. Feel free to do so.

Dude! you have more serious issues than I first thought. Are you serious, you think you are the "Son of God"?? A child of Jehovah perhaps, but the "Son of God" title has already been taken. His name is (in English) pronounced Jesus.

Being sensitive does not mean you change your personality.

If you were talking with a Thai christian, they would reject the notion that the soul resides on the top of the head, and can be disturbed by human contact. There would be no offense.

    Why ?

    Why not ?

Goodness gracious there T Alan..., take a breather. Go for a walk..., cool your jets. Read the funnies... :BangHead:

All of us "pe-poe-leees" are capable of mis-statements, typo's, errors, infractions..., not to mention that since birth is the beginning of the death process..., we're all gonna die someday.

    ...lighten' up a bit.

Uh....no I don't. I don't take issue neither do I "see" too. In fact I do not "take issue" with anything. I do disagree with beating up a lost person over the use of reverend. They will not get it neither will they care. They were trying to be respectful, regardless of the error, and you correct them. Not going to be received well and in the end no change will be made.

I suppose I could also say you see to take issue with both scripture and the correction of your own error as I have provided.

Since you were willing to jump to the worst possible conclusion about my position when there are obviously any number of other options I will leave you to your misery. You have your agenda.

lol, that was my "light" version. I wish I had a convert for every time I heard "lighten up". :1_grouphug:

typo is one thing, I make em all the time. There are two "buttons" on the bottom of my screen that says "edit" and "Preview Post" two great options I suggest trying before you walk away saying "I am the Son of God". :love2:

...I 'spose you'll catch on one day. As you know, growing old is mandatory...growing up is optional.

BTW: growing old is a blessing not mandatory, I've some very dear friends (yes, I actually have some) that were called at a young age. God Bless it.

...were they "older" the day they died the day before they died?

And for sure, I don't know what that old saying is about opinions. Please enlighten me...

Then, it will be hasta luego.
