I know many of you have expressed your desire for the "old-time time hymns," but if you had an opportunity to visit a Messianic Church, you would probably hear the kind of music I included below....I was wondering what you think of this type of music to worship Him with on Sundays? I have personally been to these types of services, yes, at Baptist churches, and I can honestly tell you that it is tremendously exciting to worship and praise God with this Messianic music....

We sing Days of Elijah, and I love it. It's also one of my husband's favorite worship songs.

Thanks for sharing such great music!

Not to my taste, but ok.

Days of Elijah is good if done well. Problems start when the congregation doesn't know the song and the music isn't on the powerpoint.

Then it just sounds plain awful. Sometimes better as a special with those that are more familiar with it.

Having been part of Messianic congregations, I love some of the rousing Jewish-music. A little goes a long way. It is NOT "worship" music. It is praise and inspirational (rouse your own heart). Perfectly good, but not what I need to worship God.

I am into historic hymns of the faith, the Psalter, and more "anthem" style that is true "worship". After 10-15 minutes of the toe-tapping Jewish songs I start humming "Give Me Oil in my Lamp" . . :BangHead:

    Well, Dr. Bob.....

....I'd much prefer "gas in my Ford! [keeping me going for the Lord]"
