One thing to keep in mind is that all the numbers for our country are not accurate. Most states are not equipped for testing so it is being sent out to other labs which I'm sure are understaffed also adding human error to this equation. Once states are setup for testing the numbers will rise significantly. I wonder why the panic in the media and with the CDC and WHO? I do not recall other health scares being at this level. What are they not telling us? It’s also interesting to see what other countries are doing to prepare/prevent the swine flu. I really do not know what to think...I do know that we could be on the brink of complete hysteria if this is not handled properly.

 

It has been surmised that the panic has 2 reasons. The first it is infecting generally healthy people and second don't waste a good scare, this is all the liberals/socialists need to completely take away our rights.

 

This swine flu might kill me before SARS and Y2K do.

Apparently you do not seem think that your statement in regards to the President wanting to kill Americans by not closing the border was not "over the top."

It's not any different. There are conspiracy theorists on both sides of the isle. Look at Michael Moore and Ann Coulter...too peas from the same pod.

WHEN and IF this ever arises to the level of the 1918 epidemics we can fight about that.

Just because "Odrama" jumps on the bandwagon doesn't make it a pandemic.

I live in S. Texas just a few miles from the border. We have yet to see the first confirmed case of 'Whine flu' in spite of the thousands of people who travel both ways across the border each day.

 

WHO has raised this to a level 5 now.

I heard a discussion on the radio about why this is different from the 1918 flu. In 1918, there was no treatment for it.

I just hope people are washing their hands. They said this is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of any illness.

But because so many people don't, do this I don't like to shake hands with people that much anymore.
