This article surprised me when I read it this morning. I remember all the trouble Michael Irvin used to get into as a player so it was wonderful to hear that he has become a Christian and is willing to talk to others about how it has changed his life.

Here is the link to the article on BP News:
Ex-NFL star Michael Irvin, now with ESPN, tells of redemption

It is nice to hear something positive about a professional sports player. I hope he will be able to lead many others to faith in Jesus Christ.

I think it is neat that the article says that he and Deion Sanders are part of an accountability group and that they "talk to each other all the time, we're always leaving Bible verses on each other's cell phone and encouraging one another to do good".

While I am mentioning the Christian NFL (and former NFL) players I should probably give a link to this BP News article on Kurt Warner:
Former MVP Kurt Warner counts blessings from season's woes

It is good that they have some accountability to each other. I know everyone struggles with temptations but it must be especially difficult when you have the kind of money that you can do whatever you please.

Thanks for the story and the links. Encouraged my heart. Reggie White (Packers) was always a hero of mine because of his outspoken faith DURING his playing days.

Glad there are more on "His team" now!
