I attended a Seminar last night given by Mike Cumbie. An ex-Pentecostal turned Catholic. And his topic for the night was "Immaculate Deception". Which brought the word GEBHIRAH into my awarenss which a I will post on shortly. Marian Doctrine was the last hurtle he had to overcome. And he explained it how he researched and discovered thru immersion into the Judaic Culture of the times made it all clear and simple.

Mike Cumbie was born and raised a Baptist. You can view his website here: http://www.mikecumbie.org

Here is an excpert from his front page:

From the heart of the Deep South, steeped in Southern Baptist tradition Michael Cumbie's call from God to preach the Gospel came at age 14. At age 19, while attending college and working on a degree in Music Education Michael experienced a life changing charismatic encounter with the Holy Spirit. Increasingly dissatisfied with fundamentalist, evangelical preaching of the Gospel, he began to understand just exactly how the early church had worshiped with its signs and symbols - and its focus on the Eucharist.

Although a Protestant Pastor for 23 years, Michael ultimately realized that to be truly in one accord with "ancient historic" Christian practice, means to be in union with Rome, where the chair of the successor of St. Peter is located, he continued his studies and research. Michael was even ordained to the sacred priesthood (see picture gallery 2) with an "old catholic" group in 1993. Eventually he realized that his denomination and the Roman Catholic Church would not become one any time soon, and he discovered that this quest for the fullness of Faith could only be realized in the Roman Catholic Church. In 2001, Michael and his three children were received into the Catholic Church. Michael's wife Sherry came back to the Catholic Church that day as well, after a 28-year absence. Michael Cumbie's conversion story is entitled "No Bread on the Table, No Crumbs on the Floor" because of his great love of, and respect for the Most Holy Eucharist.

Michael Cumbie is an experienced speaker, musician and worship leader and will inspire any audience with his knowledge, wit and incredible sense of humor.

Michael will have your audience rolling with laughter while appreciating their Catholic Faith in a way that no other speaker can!
This guy was phenominal in his presentation.

Is the "Christian church" in America irrelevant? What difference does the Mass make? Why would God give abundantly of the gifts of His grace only to ask for them back? For one popular Protestant preacher, the search for the answers to these and other crucial questions was only the beginning of a remarkable journey of faith, hope, laughter and tears that is guaranteed to strengthen your faith in, and love for, the Catholic Church!

    Fresh Perspective
No Greater Gift: The Michael Cumbie Story is the engaging, enlightening, sometimes poignant and often laugh-out-loud-funny story of Michael Cumbie's personal journey to Catholicism. Led by the Spirit
A convert to Pentecostalism from a strict Southern Baptist upbringing, Michael was one day led by the Holy Spirit to stop in a Catholic Church to pray. Inspired to return many times, he was deeply affected by the beautiful architecture and holy décor he found there. Now on this full-length video feature you'll experience Michael Cumbie's inspiring witness of how, through this experience, the Lord led him to the fullness of the truth through love of the Catholic liturgy.

    What will you learn?
Why God sometimes asks us to sacrifice a good thing, so He can give us something better
What the difference is between evangelical and liturgical worship
How the Catholic Church is the "universal sacrament" of salvation
Why if there's "no bread on the table" there can be "no crumbs on the floor"
What it means to be "Rome-o-phobic"
Why all Christians must return to "ancient liturgical worship"
How Matthew 16:27 relates to the situation in the Church
Why society is doomed without the Holy Eucharist
How art and architec- ture are an indispensable aid to worship

I AM NOW ON HOLY FIRE! WANTING TO BECOME A PART OF THE HISTORICAL CHRISTIAN CHURCH. I CAN'T WAIT TO START ATTENDING RCIA CLASSES IN THE FALL! PRAISE BE JESUS! PRAISE BE GOD! AND PRAISE BE THOSE ALREADY IN HEAVEN BASKING IN THE GLORY OF GOD!

That would be one of earth's greatest disasters, the blind leading the blind, paving the way for antichrist. I see where Cumbie is trolling for dollars ~~ perhaps he should move to Poland or Rumania. I'm sure the Catholic masses there would support him. Perhaps he could create his own Catholic kingdom in eastern Europe.

If you want to talk about the anti-christ, let's talk about George Bush or our next President Condileeza Rice.

Bush just made an announcement that he will support a UN resolution to stop the Israel/Lebanon confict. Is Bushichrist preparing his Treaty with Israel?

The problem is that mariolotry is against the Bible.

Those who worship at Mary's altars are in fact - in error.

The practice praying to the dead, to dead ancestors or even to dead saints - is condemned in scripture.

With all that - no amount of smoke screening here will destroy the clear statement of scripture on this point.

    Next.
