    Nope...

Number 4 was for an earring in the right ear only. Number 5 is now actually...

I am in a rural farming area. A suit and tie would not be appropiate walking through a barnyard full of cow manure!

Where in the New Testament is a church "minister" supposed to have an identifiable outward (clothing) "look"? What are the dress guidelines that are given to "ministers" that are distinct from everyone else?

Dress is always a matter of custom as well as of expectations. I enjoy watching the old PBS series, "All Creatures Great and Small", about a veterinary practice in Yorkshire. It is interesting that the characters playing vets always wear shirt and tie and jacket when they go to the barnyards. Sometimes they are shown stripping off; and some episodes have humorous incidents about one or the other of them getting messy and muddy. But they always return to the surgery "properly" dressed. I expect the show intends to reflect what would have been the expectations of English professional men in the 1930's.

It accords well with my English father-in-law -- pastor and professor -- who wore a dress shirt and tie and jacket for everything, INCLUDING mowing his lawn in summer-warm Louisville! We would tease him about it, and he had no "defense" except to say that that was what he did.

Didn't you know that Texans feed the deer so they can shoot them?
