It was Pliny the Elder who first informed the world that ostriches stick their heads in the sand to hide. It was nonsense in A.D. 50 when Pliny lived, and it is still nonsense today.

But the misinformation has continued to resurface throughout every century despite countless debunking.

You evidently just can't kill an attractive falsehood that is touted as "truth".

Clear parallel here over the obvious misinformation that is "screamed" by the only sect over and over and over, even though it is patently false. (Think Ps 12 as an example)

It was nonsense in A.D. 1611 and it's still nonsense today.

In the early 90s i visited the Bible Museum
at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Across the
street at the book store i bought a $2
copy of one page of an original King James
    Version 1611 edition (KJV1611).
I have been using the internet or it's
precussors since 1984. So i got on the
search engine i used at that time
and checked using "KJV1611". At that time
i found that no place you can find using
"KJV1611" uses the KJV1611. Instead they
usually use the KJV1769 (or is that KJV1762).
I had my first run-in with virtual KJV-Onlyists.

90% of the King James Version Bibles
produced in the 20th century (1901-2000)
have no information that there are
various editions of the King James Version.

Ever since I've been debating with Onlyists, I've seen that they shovel into the garbage pile every 6 months or so, to dredge up old garbage, long refuted, that simply smells worse with age, as they actually find someone gullible enough to fall for their myth. Some of these "oldies that were never goodies" are:

In Isaiah 14:12, the MVs substitute Jesus for the devil by reading "morning star" rather than "Lucifer".

The MVs have copyrights, while the KJV does not, meaning the MVs are made and sold to make filthy lucre.

The MVs leave out Christ's blood in several verses.

The MVs are made from incorrect mss.

Westcott and Hort, the "fathers" of the texts from which MVs are made, were closet Catholics and also practicing mystics.

    Dean John Burgon was KJVO.

The MVs leave out umpteen hundred words.

Now, we get into some of their REALLY STUPID assertions:

The "provisional Bible" trash, where they say the English Bibles made before 1611 are "fill-ins", serving the English until "that which is perfect"-the KJV-was made.

The MVs deny Christ's Divine conception by calling Joseph and Mary "his parents" in Luke 2:43. Apparently the paragons of wisdom who thought this one up had trouble reading five verses further in their KJVs: Luke 2:48, KJV "And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, ***thy father*** and I have sought thee sorrowing.

The Psalm 12:6-7 thing. I might recommend that the KJVOs who advocate that these verses refer to God's words consult a REAL AV 1611 to see the marginal note referring to V.7.

"The KJV corrects the mss from which it was made." Typical Rucky-Mon factoid with its typical veracity.

And, finally, this classic: Gimme the King James that Paul used!"

This is but a short list from the KJVO loony bin, oldies long-refuted, but periodically brought up by some KJVOs in the hope that some new reader may actually half-believe some of them. unfortunately, we then have to go to work and present all the refutations over again, in the hope that we keep the neophytes from falling into the KJVO quagmire.

As Dr. Bob said, it was nonsense then, & it's nonsense now.

"A cowboy's work is never done."

They do!!! It is in plain English.

They do!!! When they go bankrupt, they either make it public domain,or $ell it to be re-ha$hed(ESV,for example).

They do in fact;compare any of the 200+ conflicting authorites to the word of God(KJB);only a fool would deny that.

They are!!! Made from the most vile, corrupt texts that ever was scraped out of a dumpster(Sinaiticus),and the RCC's OFFICIALmanuscript,Vaticanus(Revelation 17).

    No arguments there...

    No,he wasn't.

Yep,and why not!?? Satan did it(Gen 3;Luke 4:10)and good ole' Baalam did too(Numbers 22:12-13),and Jehudi did not think that those fire bound verses were originaly in the "original",so to clear up what God "REALLY" should have said,he broke out the penknife.(Father of textual criticism I suppose).

Yup!!! If the KJB is not it,then what did the poor suckers do for the word of God until 1881??

But He set them straight as to who His Father was;big F,not lower case...

Who cares what some men said?? I tell you who does, men pleasers do;I know what the Bible(KJB) says.

It does!!! Can you prove it doesn't??

Have a look at this LINK

Well,we will see real soon when 2 Corinthians 5:10 happens....I'm ready..

I speak in parables so that the unenlightened will flounder in darkness and the true child of God will understand.

Did you forget to read the first 8 posts? Hello?

Man, Pliny was so RIGHT. There is none so ignorant as one who is willingly ignorant!

BTW, you aren't being questioned because of "preferrence". You are being questioned because of your persistence in error despite having been shown the truth.

</font>[/QUOTE]What's wrong with putting your message in a form everyone can understand? Would you be happier if his tracts were in 17th century English? ;)

The way things are going, in a few years The Message will be too erudite for everyone to understand and we'll need Jack Chick to come to the rescue with a Graphic Novel Version of the Holy Bible!

BTW, How do you answer the content of the article linked to? What he's saying makes good sense to me.
