What, you couldn't find any comments from Carrot Top or Whoopi Goldberg?

If some on the right hung on their every word as political truth, I might have tried.

Hang on his every word as political truth?

    Gordon Liddy?

Dude, I don't think that I have even heard his name mentioned in the past two decades - at least!

Living in the past are we?

Maybe it's time for you to change the bong water.

Personal attack? Dude, you are being way too sensitive. Especially considering the sewage that you put out.

Besides - be honest - nobody gets to your place on the political spectrum without a little bit of help from the ganja.

Obama admitted to it - that plus a little coke - and look where it got him!

Show? Can't say that I've ever seen it.

 Some people put to much stock in their posts on a forum. A little dose of reality would help.

To claim moral high ground for the left is downright silly.

What a hoot! Yes, MP, you need to go around exposing all the crude jokes about menstrual cycles! Expose the evil! Meanwhile, you voted for a man who thinks it's ok to leave aborted babies to be exposed if they survive the procedure. But no, there's more important moral crises in the world, like busting all the crude jokesters in the world!

P.S. Please note that I think Liddy's comments were crude and unfunny, but the contrast in MP's moral outrage between certain things just baffles the mind.

I remember him calling Sarah Palin "Caribou Barbie". I'm sure he meant that in the non-mysoginist way.

What rbell has said here about Mr. G. Gordon Liddy may well be accurate, and I tend to agree with this assessment of this individual, at least some of the time, and I do hear his show on the radio from time to time.

However, what is inaccurate as well as intentionally pejorative and inflammatory is the thread title, and I suggest the OP knows this, as well as you or I do!

There is nothing to support this opinion offered about the ideas of Mr. Liddy (or anyone else, for that matter) in this but the opinions themselves.

Such 'cracks' as "Misogynist", "hormone replacement therapy" and "pig talk" and "Carrot Top" are inappropriate and entirely uncalled for, IMO.

Again, as rbell says, Judge Sotomayer's positions and decisions, by contrast, are entirely "fair game" but let's not have any prejudiced rhetoric, from anyone on any 'side' here, override any real issues.

I have read this entire thread, before commenting, in contrast to my usual procedure of starting at the first and commenting on the first post I come to that I feel is deserving of comment. The reason I picked this one to reply to, is because sadly, this is the most reasoned post of substance I saw in the entire thread. I would note that Bro. Curtis appears to have agreed, at the time of his post, with my assessment here, as well.

You are absolutely right. And I didn't originate that moniker either. It refers to the fact that she had all the brains of a Barbie doll, not that she was female. To equate that to Liddy's comments is disingenuous. You are smart enough to know that, Curtis.

Hmmm, so instead of calling her stupid, you make a reference to a female doll.

Say I was to buy that line of baloney, then yer not quite as misogynistic as Liddy. Congratulations. Your comment came from mean spiritedness, just like his.

I don't care what you buy. Palin is not the brightest bulb on the tree. (Now go accuse me of being anti-tree lights). It is no more sexist than calling a man "an empty suit".

I find that laughable. I also find it laughable to see you use this statement by Liddy to say the right has lost their way. I thought assigning morals to a particular group was something you wouldn't do.

The statement is horrible. A little bit worse than yours was. But nowhere near as bad as Malveaux's.

I am not saying it is a moral issue with the right. I am saying that it is another indicator that the current group of spokespersons on the right, along with many of the GOP politicians, have indeed lost their way. Do they have individual moral failings? Absolutely. But I was speaking of political direction, not morals.

Liddy's statement comes from what he holds in his heart.

Only the right-wing can make personal attacks without getting a warning. Isn't that right Ladyeagle and Pastor Larry?

And your statements come from your heart.

And Liddy has a pretty small audience, he's a good financial analyst, but most folks turn to others for political punditry.

And you gave no such caveat in your statement. You said the right has lost their way. If you hadn't said that, and gave the stupid "join us in the 21st century" garbage, I never would have piped up. I would also add I never defended his statements.

    Off to paint.
