WASHINGTON, Feb. 12 — The U.S. military has deployed heat-seeking Stinger anti-aircraft missiles around the nation’s capital as part of a nationwide security push in response to an alert that terrorists may be planning new attacks, defense officials told NBC News on Wednesday.

Someone at work was talking about this today - these things are all over SW DC. Something about this being the model city for what's supposed to happen in all other major cities when we go up past yellow in the color code system. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it.

Be glad you live in a country that values your life enough to protect you.

    Generally, I am. Generally.

That doesn't mean, though, that I'm thrilled to live amongst constant fly-overs and seeing big missile launchers all over my city.

    Mixed feelings, friend. Mixed feelings.

    Stubborn--

During WW2--US Troopers could not have been more releaved than to see a P-47 or a P-51 "buzz" their position. More P-47's flyin' meant only one thing--less 109's from Goering's measly, miserable Luftwaffe flyin'!

We have been fightin' WW3 in slowmotion--since the signin' of the unconditional surrender of Germany--many a Stormtrooper would say to US Troops as they would surrender by the droves(the stormtroopers doing the surrendering)"After Germany surrenders to you--you will join us in our real fight against Russia!" Little did he know--

But its been in slowmotion ever since then--oh, it'll heat up a little--in Korea in '50 and in Vietnam in the '60's and '70's--

And now, the war is on Stubborn's front porch!! I would feel safer if there were another battery or two of those heat seekers around Blackbird's frontyard!! And add in a few F-15 Tomcat's and a few F-18 Hornets to boot!!

    Your buddy,
    Blackbird

Seems like Sat to Monday next could be a window of opportunity to strike Iraq. Does anyone else feel this way?

Too many things going on red alert here, in England, and Israel.

I live in Tampa where Macdill AFB (Centcom) is located and I always enjoy watching a jet or one of the huge transport planes fly over. I'm thankful for the arms we have in place to protect us.

I'm even more thankful we have a president who is willing to remove an evil man like Saddam from power and rid this world of Islamic terrorists and tyrants, not to mention liberating the Iraqi people.
