Have you ever taken a cross-cultural missions trip? By this I mean primarily outside your own country borders. However, I would agree that, say, a missions trip within the US to a Native American mission would count.

If you have never taken such a trip, jump at your next opportunity. It will change your life.

    God bless.

Our church normally sponsors a couple of short-term mission trips each year. Last year, my wife & daughter went to South America for a week, and can't wait to go back.

I went to Temuco Chile for 14 days. My sons have been to several European countries and Costa Rica.

I live in a mission type of area, actually. Does that count? I moved here from elsewhere.

When I was 16 years old, my church went to Oklahoma and spent a week on an Indian reservation teaching them how to conduct Vacation Bible School.

When you're originally from the South, going anywhere else is cross cultural.

I have spent significant time in Puerto Rico, some in Spain and some in Mexico. Dh has been to Mexico several times and is going again soon. He has been to Italy as well. You are so right, it really WILL change your whole perspective!!!

We have hosted mission trips to help work (physical) at our camp. We have land, buildings (kinda!!) and lots of projects, but only a few small, aging churches. These teams have been a super blessing.
